It's the only reason the bit really works- you couldn't have two people who just 'work together' do something like this, they'd end up wanting to kill each other in no time flat. For them, it's genuinely out of love and respect, and it shows- because there is no way you'd read any of that kind of thing on live TV otherwise. ...I do wish that they'd thought of this bit back when Chevy Chase was on the show though. There would have bene a line out the door of cast members wanting him to read awful things on the air out of sheer vengeance.

3:55 The "dark as Moana" bit should've got a bigger laugh as apparently Che prefers his girlfriends to be on the whiter side.
@773SleepyHollow22 күн бұрын
You're just making that up. The joke is that Che is horrified by the idea of his shunning women of color... it's akin to the character in Coming to America who claimed MLK randomly punched him in the chest on the street... the humor comes from the absurdity. The only story I've heard about Che and White women is that woman who publicly claimed he was "rude" to her online, and then Che showed the receipts via messages that the woman was obnoxiously coming on to him and he was calmly deflecting her interest.
@SpreadingtheMuse21 күн бұрын
@@773SleepyHollow You don't think I checked it first? I knew I was missing some context so I googled "Michael Che girlfriend" to see what popped up. You can try it yourself and you'll see the names "Heidi Gardner" and "Cecily Strong" for starters, both white women. That's enough justification for Colin Jost.
