As a Texas Hunter Education instructor I was giving a talk, and mentioned that the "Deer Crossing" signs are placed where cars are likely to hit a deer. One of the ladies in the class was outraged. "Well, why don't they put the signs where the deer can safely cross the road?"

Yrs ago I was in a bookstore and a female caller was outraged over a book, the clerk explained that a book for dummies means that they've explained how to do it in the simplest terms possible and that the author wasn't calling her an idiot.

I live in Tennessee and I was listening to the morning radio show. They were doing a segment where callers could suggest ways to make the roads safer in our local area. A lady called in and said “They should move all those deer crossing signs off of the busy roads. They shouldn’t be letting the deer cross where they can get hit.” I thought it was a joke but realized it wasn’t when the lady continued, “And they should put up signs that warn the deer not to cross at night, too.” Let me tell you, it was then I realized why my friends call Tennessee “The Eh-ja-ma-cation State.”

That's when you tell her its American custom to wear a buck head at the end of buck season and walk thru the woods to thank the deer for their service!!

What this lady wants to happen is impossible. This is because DEER DO NOT CARE!!! Deer don’t care about cars or traffic laws, they do what they please! So clearly this lady thinks that deer’ll just push on the walk button and “WAIT” for the little white stick-man to appear. Some people are just unbelievable!!!

I'm glad my one true love was a bit more compatible. My wife was on a different level. She loved to hunt, shoot, cook and eat venison. We never had a need to buy meat from the store. She hunted until health issues kept her home. When her 257 Roberts echoed in the woods, it was dragging time. 40 years wasn't enough time. I miss her with every breath I take.

So sorry for your loss. I'm 42 and just got my 1st ever deer last season. I didn't think I would ever hunt again due to health problems so it was amazing. Going out wensday. Kno that your soul mates are looking down on you always.

I was married 12 years 7months and 10 days. There is never enough time be it long or short. I'm so very sorry for your loss. This year it will be 15 years since Marie passed away from a massive heart attack. I know the pain gets easier to deal with but never goes away, I wish you the best, Sir and enjoy your wonderful memories.

I was in Vegas for NFR one year and Larry the Cable guy was preforming at one casino and Bill Engvall at another went to Larry's show and Bill showed up mid show with some Jack Daniel, walked out on stage, handed Larry the bottle and told some jokes. It was awesome!

I used to go deer hunting with my daddy. I loved watching the little field mice run around under the stand. On a few occasions I was woken up in the stand because I was snoring. Lol. Sorry Daddy!

My sister went deer hunting with one of her boyfriends and 3 of his friends one weekend. No one got a clear shot at a deer the entire weekend until the last day. Just about the time they were thinking of leaving, my sister got a good clear shot at a buck, dropped it with a single neck shot. The men insisted on staying out another day, but no one else got a deer. My sister was never invited to go with them again.

Deer like most animals have certain trails that they use. The scent of other dear leads them to follow their instinct so they often do cross roads that are in their "path".

Your wife is a sweetheart and there is no way you could expect a result other than sending her off with her gal pals to party and shop while you hunt. I was one of those women who did hunting that way and it was the best way to go. You knew David and he was smart to handle it that way.

The way he describes his wife’s attitude towards deer hunting is how I picture my mother when my dad drags her to one of his jeep meet ups. He’s a part of tri state jeepers and members meet up every once in a while and of course he goes without hesitation. My mother is more of a home body who wants to stare at a screen all day.. but she’ll complain that they never do anything together.
