@@michaelhill1708 buffet was asked to defend capitalism in his first statement. While defending capitalism as the greatest system ever made, he said twice that rules and regulations were needed, he in fact finished his point by saying that. Followed by Bill Gates literally explaining how they believe in progressive tax system (a product of a socialist system) and he also explained the difference between classic socialism, and the way people use the term now. It seems to me everyone thinks that capitalism and socialism are two opposites that can’t co-exist, clearly these people believe it can. Everyone hears them defend capitalism and turns off their minds. They clearly prefer a capitalist system with socialist qualities, but that’s not the same as if they were standing advocating for a full capitalist society. Not even close.

But even though bill gates has made great strides with computers and technologies does he deserve to have over $100 billion when millions of people starve to death? Is that really a good way to distribute the finite resources we have on this planet?
@samuelashagrie15224 жыл бұрын

samuel ashagrie do you how much money Bill Gates has made by his companies paying people slave wages in Asia and Africa to assemble his companies products? I’m not even saying he personally should apologise for his wealth, I’m saying the system that allows some to have that amount of wealth, the system he’s defending in the video, is broken, inhumane and a terrible use of the worlds finite resources, Bill Gates doesn’t need or deserve over $100 billion, the fact he’s given away a lot of his wealth and still holds on to over $100 billion worth of assets just proves further he has a ridiculous amount of wealth. Saying it’s out of jealousy is the most childish argument that comes up whenever the absurdly wealthy are discussed and it’s ridiculous, I don’t want $100+ dollars, I want that money to be used to help people and not held by 1 person who sometimes gives money to some character to make himself look good, also he’s not enjoying what he’s produced, he’s enjoying what other people have produced, he’s enjoy the things the people in Asia who put together Xboxes produced who he pays next to nothing too. Also you haven’t addressed anything to do with Warren or Charlie so I’ll assume it’s because you can’t defend them

Socialism is a broad range of ideas on how an alternative system could replace capitalism. These guys support an authoritarian top down hierarchy, which is based on the premise of Social Darwinism. The really old farts can barely use a computer. The reality is that Buffet and Monger spent many years developing mechanisms to extract money from a really crappy game that even they don't actually understand. Gates was a software engineer who made a program, which he apparently plagerized. So the idea is that these guys are Ubermenchen because they manipulated money and for Gates he was in the right field at the right time, working on the right product. The answer is expansion of Democracy and personal liberty. Not dictatorship of the wealthy.

@@Bolognabeef Yes Bill Gate’s creating a monopoly on internet services and crushing all competition with brutal business tactics was soooo great for society, thanks Bill Gates. Also look up “manufacturing consent” and you’ll see that often times consent is an illusion for working class people. “Sell your labor to a capitalist or starve” isn’t really an actual choice. As for the consumers, the consumers never really had a choice either considering Bill Gates built a monopoly. Each of these events introduced some variant of socialism into a major country - i.e., Bolshevik socialism in Russia, New Deal socialism in the United States, and National socialism in Germany. Contemporary academic histories, with perhaps the sole exception of Carroll Quigley's Tragedy And Hope, ignore this evidence. On the other hand, it is understandable that universities and research organizations, dependent on financial aid from foundations that are controlled by this same New York financial elite, would hardly want to support and to publish research on these aspects of international politics. @@Bolognabeef Yes Simone. (Sono italiana anch'io, ciao!). Most billionaires make money by exploiting others, paying them often less than a minimum wage and not respecting rights. Look at how Amazon workers are exploited for example, research, there has been a lot of talk about it. Amazon even destroyes 130.000 items a week in UK (laptops, phones, etc.)to keep certain prices. It's even worse if you look at other countries and not just the West. Look at how Steve Jobs made chinese children build his smartphones. Bill Gates stole his ideas from Xerox. The materials used to build computers and smartphones come from indian and african mines with child labour. Rihanna became a billionaire and her very famous makeup line uses mica, a mineral, taken from India by children. They built empires on others exploitation. Meanwhile, working class pays more taxes than them. We have been told communism is wrong because Stalin bla bla. Actually Lenin, Stalin, Mao, were deranged right wing in the marxist movement and were often criticized by other marxist which were the libertarian left in marxism (and so they got rid of them). Socialism and communism(S) are today different by the way. Socialism is simply a redistribution of wealth to reduce social injustices (example: through taxes). Milos Dunjic you do realize that that is how you get rid of them right? At a certain point, they will get on one of their many private planes and go to a country where they dont have their wealth stolen from them by a greedy, inefficient, rich hating government. And then all you are left with is the people who cannot create the millions of jobs those billionares previously created.

@@christopherorick8652 Capitalism can't work without taxes. There is no other way to transfer value to the areas of the economy that can't produce a profit as direct return on investment in three month intervals. Profits flow to those areas where the cost of labor can continually be cut in the service or commodity produced. Now think of a public transportation system. Mass transit is necessary as the most cost effective way to get people to work in a city. You can cut the cost of everything made that goes into the system and the repair costs. What is an almost impossible cost to cut in the last 70 years without cutting the bus or train drivers wage is the daily labor operating cost. This among other reasons is why almost every town and city in the US that has public transportation requires a tax subsidy. Most of those systems were founded as private systems that became unprofitable for that reason. They were declared bankrupt and placed into the hands of the government as a quasi public/private partnership.
@kimobrien.4 жыл бұрын
The second issue with taxes in a class society is who pays them? Here is where you can see that in the earlier days of capitalism the capitalist paid a great majority of the taxes because the exploitation of the workers was such that anyone thinking that the workers would pay anything but sin taxes would be laughed out of the room. In many industries we weren't even paid in what you'd call real money but instead company script usable at the company store only. We have won a few battles since then but having a payroll check bounce is still not an unusual experience.

It's ignorance that drives out reason. People who advocate for socialism, all lack the wisdom and education to truly understand what they're advocating for. Is it any coincidence that they're all young people? The most gullible among us? People who don't yet know what responsibility is, or what it's like to take care of a family? These are the people we want making decisions for everyone else?

Eternal Reign There is a saying in England. “If you don’t vote for socialism when you’re a student you have no heart. If you don’t vote for capitalism when you’re an adult you have no brain.” I think that sums it up perfectly and happens to be the path I took. However, these 3 are everything wrong with capitalism. They are richer than most countries. That’s obscene when there’s so much poverty, in my opinion.

Stephen W This my friend is why there is that great rift or divide btw rich and poor. Forget Capitalism or Socialism, when you choose not to educate yourself abt finances / economy, you automatically choose the direction you wish to follow. Many of those millions watching make up videos end up squandering their hard earned $$$ on make ups and other hot button items seen on such videos thereby running up credit card debts and then wondering why they never get out of their economic state despite their hard work.
