Ton of wisdom in that statement. IMO, the key to true intelligence is to be able to learn from other peoples experiences.
@heart_and_sole3 ай бұрын
A thought that rises in this vein: Live so a life that others will want to come meet you. Also, unfortunately, it is the custom in the West for the old to retire. We take their lifetime of learning and push people to park it, so to speak. Jim Rohn wisely relates an anecdote about his elderly father, a farmer, who never retired, and asking him rhetorically to imagine what its going to be like investing the last 75 or 76 years of experience into the coming year. Before they go, the old should leave their wisdom to us that trail behind on this winding road. Everyone has something to teach us. Also, exercise is not primarily a portion for longevity's sake...but rather for the pleasure of employing the body as its own reward. Better to die old and strong than old and mushy.

If you like investments, spirituality, physics and history I can be your friend 🙂(no idea how the hell I saw this comment, so, I thought, why not asking? Warren would aprove such investment, potential high returns in form of a friend at a simple request 😀)

@@ReiPago no, thanks. Warren would never invest in things that he doesn’t understand.
@ReiPago2 ай бұрын
@@Snowchild410 Ok. I like to pinpoint 3 bad assumptions imo that you made there: I know a lot about having friends, and Warren too, hence he enjoyed time with Charlie. Friends, they're not investments, they're people, some of them are like my brothers and sisters, and I dont have lots of friends. Even though Warren doesn't invest in businesses that he doesn't know, he tries to know some, like Apple, beacuse if he doesn't try to learn, he wouldn't invest in anything, nobody is born knowing businesses. Have a nice Sunday.

Back in high school, we read a story called "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", and from the project that we did based on that novel, I think it's very similar to what Warren is talking about. There's a last day for everyone, here on Earth, but once you go up to Heaven, I believe you can meet anyone you want, no matter if they lived in your time, or many years ago. My goal in life is to make it to see some of my own advanced ages, like my 70s, my 80s, or if I'm lucky enough, even my 90s. I really don't know how many people will be still around then that I know now, but I hope I can spend my last day with at least one of them, and spend an eternity up in Heaven.

They have led their lives very simply, gave the most helpful advice on life and money, had a very beneficial influence on government policy, and possess a stellar character. They have contributed billions to charity and denied themselves the luxury that their wealth could have provided them with. They taught the rich how to live and use their wealth, a lesson we poorer people should learn. They are worthy of most of ours admiration and adoration.@@Doradoo-h1q

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve not with standing inflation, from $275k to $850k.
