The truth is that AI is still very much in its infancy. Just look at something as "simple" as online translations, Google still utterly fails at it. "Self-driving" cars? Don't work on bad roads. Mankind is far more likely to destroy itself, rather than evolving any further.
@davekay69777 жыл бұрын
"If labour was free" interesting, how about "If software was free"? If we spend money on Africa, they will be able to drive labour costs down. We could look forward to American labour at $2.00 per week!

Bill, why did Microsoft need to invent a proprietary file system (NT, the network for Windows systems)? And I'm not talking about the system for organizing files; I'm talking about the inodes that do the linking for the indexes to the sectors where the file hangs for the operating systems of input and output. Shouldn't Microsoft have figured out how to keep any and every hacker in the world from knowing your Contact list if it's in Outlook or to spread a virus with a Word Macro? Huh, Bill? Can you publish something about that for us?

people are worried about A.I. taking all of our jobs, but when we start working and living in outer space, there won't be enough people to fill all of the new jobs created. A new patent I just read about, will allow space elevators to be built with current materials. It has multiple tethers at its center ( for greatest strength ) and fewer tethers as you move away from center ( for lesser amounts of mass ). Liftport has plans to build a Lunar elevator from current material. Using that same material for an Earth based elevator would reach the lunar gravity center (about 9,000 km AGL) approx. 1/6 G. Add this new concept and you could reach Earth's surface. We can do this now. Let's get started. What do you think?

This reporter did his best to get Gates to take the bait and rant about Trump. Billionaires are usually way to wise to do that. I'm not a big Gates fan, but he seems rational and logical and knows that Trump I'll be in charge for a while. He is not some impatient crybaby that can't wait for his turn to be back in charge again.
