@@michaelcraig9449 Haley failed to achieve the level of success enjoyed by contemporaries such as Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. According to one source, "he had conflicted feelings about fame, was extremely private, suffered chronic alcoholism, and troubled relationships." In the fifties, music impresarios were on the lookout for musical acts that could perform Black music well, since White audiences would be more apt to play the White versions, as parents felt like the White versions were more "safe." That's how Pat Boone's hilariously Caucasian version of Little Richard's hit, "Tutti Frutti" made more money than the original. So, it really doesn't matter if the White artist were actually better; White audiences (like you) treated them like they were...

It's so strange...seeing the first generation of "rockers" become "elderly" and most are gone now. I like to think music, particularly rock n roll, changes the way people age, keeping a part of us young forever.

Some of us still around !! Can`t `cut it` like that anymore but will never forget the feeling of the music and dancing to it for hours. Where did we get all that energy from........

John Still hahaha..there's something about this music and how we learned to dance that will never go away. I can still "GO" as well just no one to go with. LOL I think this is my favorite Haley song.

I’ve always wondered if that missed landing at :51 was unintentional or not. She certainly looks a bit surprised for an instant, then she’s whisked out of frame. I also love the couple (dude with glasses) who are seen in the background dancing ever so gently, then end up the ones who bust loose a few moments later.

I really wish I had a group of friends to practice this with for Prom in 2 years. This and the music of the 50's and 60's is what makes me happy and come alive. Not music from now, but music from then. :)
