When I was a kid I was lucky enough to have relatives working on the Milwaukee Road and had ridden from Deer Lodge to Avery a number of times on the Little Joes. You capture the area in excellent form. Outstanding.

The bridge at 5:28 looks just like the one at Garcia on the old main line on the way to Snoqualmie pass in Washington state. Awesome layout for sure.

Fantastic layout! I'm huge Milwaukee Road fan! Don't have space for a layout at the moment, so for now, books, posters, timetables etc. Most precious possesion right now, engineers handbook for their FT diesel, perfect condition in black and orange, only need a set of Milwaukee Road FT's now! lol! Outstanding layout....I missed seeing the St. Paul Pass area in operation when I was a kid, but did see some of the last electrics on the Rocky Mountain division around Butte on a family trip to Yellowstone, May/ June 1974. I just have to imagine how good EF-2, 3 and 5 box cabs and tandem Joes would look under wire on your layout.

Beautiful layout. Enjoyed the video although it always cuts away before I can see the whole train. I do enjoy seeing the freight cars in the train too - please include at least one run by where we can see all the cars! Cheers.

Bill, heard you mention that you might install sound. Your layout is the most real looking layout that I have ever seen on You Tube. In my opinion, your layout would sound good. But without smoke visually because of the realism of your layout it would not seem right. Ho scale diesel locomotives with sound and smoke are becoming available and I think that sound and smoke decoders will be available in the future, at least I'm hoping so. Really impressed with your layout. I have not heard your name mentioned. Because we shop at the same hobby stores and know the same people, I was quite surprised that I hadn't. Thanks for sharing your video and be safe on the rails.

I was hoping the last shot would show the full consist passing by, so as to see all the rolling stock. Also, some shots closer to track level would've been sweet. Still, amazing layout and good videography of the model railroad. the scene at 8:24 really makes the scale of it all pop!

My goodness, how many drop-dead gorgeous bridges are on this layout?! Fantastic. And, that young man with the throttle in his hand is one lucky fellow. I had to wait until my fifties to own a layout and run trains like that. He is well ahead of the curve - and never let codgers attempt to convince us young people aren't getting in the hobby. Question: is the track on the curved bridges super- elevated? If so, how was this accomplished while utilizing what appear to be straight spans underneath to support the track? I'm trying to do this on a curved bridge on my layout, and things get real tricky real quickly.

I wonder what would have happened if Milwaukee Road's Pacific line didn't go out of business? Possibly it would be part of Canadian Pacific today or maybe Montana Rail Link.

to me this is how a layout should be done, the land scape surrounding the train has to make the train look small, it hard to do with tighter curve that we have to do , I see so many layout that are stacked levels , that just don't look good if looking some what down ,you have to look ground level to look right and I don't want to sit on the floor

It would be a great video if it wasn't for the damned camera clicking and flashing. Kind of melancholy with the empty trolley poles lining the ROW.
