I find that by setting aside a set time each day to spend in one place with him, that is, with no distractions, and just kneeling or sitting before Him, and singing and praying to Him, each day, that I grow in Him and am more steadfast in Him. I have done this for over 38 years. I spend time in the morning, sometimes afternoon too and in the evening. I started out spending maybe 15 to 20 minutes each day alone with Him in this way, then stretched it. Now, I can spend 2 hours a day with Him..and because of that I have had wonderful blessings from Him! I pull the plug on the phone and put a sign on the door "Don't Knock!" Sometimes I get thoughts about things I must do while waiting on Him, so I jot them down on paper, then shove it in my pocket so I can concentrate on Jesus. I promise you, you will become more like Him and stronger in Him brother, as you discipline yourself to spend time alone with Him each day. And in the Bible! I was called into ministry through this close union with Him and have been used of Him in getting souls saved. I had a very inglorious beginning and came out of a very difficult life and was very low in every way. "The Lord is good to the soul that seeks Him." Although it started out as a "discipline" (which is where the word "disciple" comes from,) for me now, it is the sweetest time of the day..being "shut in with God in a secret place, there in the Spirit beholding His face!" You are on the right path! I hope we meet in Heaven my friend.

I've been having an on-going experience with the inner Light 4 about 20 yrs. & was having a hard time excepting it as real so I prayed 2 GOD 2 show me that I wasn't crazy & was guided 2 a school in Wisconsin. This program really spoke to me. I can relate to the "auto pilot" although I am thinking of God and the matters going on in the world today, tryin to find clear sight into what is happening. I wanna learns from others who have experienced how God moves powerfully in their lives and get the right (Godly) perspective. When I was in my early 20's I got help to descover the Bible, The message of Jesus and the most fundamental teachings. I got baptised a little later. But coming from a non-believing backround, I had a hard time (still have) to relate to the carismatic believers. Most who (as I was taught) built their faith on a lot of feeling/experiences. And also the awareness of false prophets here and there, put me off in general before I even started to read myself. the church I "belong to" nowdays has much focus on learning/teaching the scriptures, but their faith in prayer and in miracles is not that present. Still I wanna grow and se how God moves and be encouraged how other have taken steps. I know it is not a system/way how to do things, but more a matter of the heart. Sothat is where I wanna start, with myself.

Some of you wonder about this "behaving drunk" and signs and wonders. In Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit fell, there were tongues of fire on peoples' heads -- that is not normal. Read a little further down, and you see that Peter had to say, "no they are not drunk, it's only 9 in the morning" -- why do you think he said that? Because the people were behaving in a way that people thought was drunkenness! Peter also quoted Joel 2 -- which is a prophecy for the "last days" -- seeing dreams and visions -- basically talking about "signs and wonders" -- arent we living in the last days? So logic should tell you that things Peter pointed to in Joel 2 that were happening in that day would happen nowadays, too! Jesus said in John 14:12, "he that believes on me, the works that I do, shall he do also: and GREATER works than these shall he do...." Mat 8:16 and Mat 12:15 say Jesus healed all who came to him... if we are to do greater works than Jesus, it means His followers will be healing people in His name. Mark 16:17 says, "these signs shall follow them that believe: in my name they shall cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues...and they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.... Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever Heb. 13:8 -- of COURSE there SHOULD BE HEALINGS! But so many people who see these things happen, criticize what it looks like, or find fault with the person doing it. Instead of being thrilled someone got healed or saved, they, like the Pharisees who criticized Jesus for "doing it wrong", do the same thing and say "that can't be God", and even go as far as to say the Devil did it!!!! (remember the Pharisees saying Jesus cast out demons by Beelzebub?). Pretty sad. My point? Don't be so quick to judge something just because it looks different or because you have never seen it before, or because it's not "exactly" written in the scriptures as YOU understand them. And before you assume this stuff was for the original apostles only, in John 17:20 Jesus said, "neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.... that the world may believe that you have sent me"... He had already told people "believe on me because of the works I do.. to John's disciples he told them, "the sick are healed, the dead are raised," as proof He was the one John was looking/waiting for. True you don't want to contradict God's word... but scripture says we see through a glass darkly and don't know/understand it all! Pray about it, and let God out of the box you've built for Him. I pray He "blow up your God box."

Gerrie Louden Exactly Gerrie. I grew up in a church that didn't believe in any signs, wonders and healings, and thought that people talking in tongues were possesed by demons. After coming back to the Lord 20 years later, I attend a church where healings are regular and I speak in tongues. And I love it!!!! My God cannot be put in a box.

The Pomp King yes the word DOES say that. In Acts 2:13 the people hearing them said, "they've had too much wine." And in verse 15, Peter said they weren't drunk as the people thought." So yes the Word says they were behaving drunk, for the people to think they "had too much wine".

you need to read the Greek -- any time you go from one language to another, with slightly different translation (i.e. KJV or NIV, you get a slightly different wording -- in light of that, I wouldn't recommend making a big deal out of the little words, unless you see the Greek emphasizes it. "In the earth" and "on the earth" are essentially the same thing... unless you are talking about "in" meaning under the ground!

Anthony Geffert is right -- 5 is the Biblical number for grace -- the fact you are seeing a double 5 (55) is also significant. Perhaps you could do a word study in the Bible on the word "grace", and ask the Lord to show you how it fits you in particular, and your life in Him. Jesus said the Holy Spirit will lead you into truth -- so He will "highlight" things in scripture as you study. It could have to do with Him giving you grace and favor in a situation you have??? But ask the Lord Himself.
