I went to see this Guy at Bodymasters Gym in Blackpool. He was absolutely massive, someone in the audience asked him if he could stack the lat pull down machine. Jamie Reeves and Bill said lets have a go then..... after the initial warm up they both began, Some time later there was much laughter when Bill said I give up..... you were a bit ambitious when you built this pull down machine!

Dave's Gym is awesome - proper old school. Was asking Dave himself about this the other week - he said he thought BK was stood on a kerb when he first got out the van - you don't appreciate how big these guys are until you see them in the flesh!

Bill seems as humble and decent as Brian Shaw if not more so if that is possible. What a lovely chap he is, nice to see him in this setting.

1:03:55 “ In Hawaii where they use plastic weights” LMAFO! Love how Kaz points out the B.S Officiating at at Record Breaker meet in Hawaii. where Ted benched 700 lbs. Totally not IPF gold standards.

Kaz is one of the greatest. Unfortunately the young trainers are not considering these tips and tricks and so the most valuable information are going lost.

Bernd Kawlowski So true. However, i have a lot of problems hearing and making out what he says. Specially because english isn't my native language it makes it even harder. I hope some day someone have the stamina to do subtitles for this treasure!

Bill respected Jon Pall, but seems he may have held something against the guy. I love both Kaz and JP. Both at #1 in there time for me. For me it seemed like Kaz was threatened by Jon.

very true. He was threatened by Jon and he was right to be as he lost in the WSM contest just two months after this..

I get where he's coming from, Bill's strict lift numbers were higher, but Jon brought speed and athleticism that were hard to best in running events. Both are tremendous athletes.

Crazy thing is Kaz was probably at his weakest...bench wise here. At this point he was only really doing strongman so he didn't need to focus on the bench and most importantly this was long after he tore his pec trying to bend a 1 1/16" steel bar. The tear knocked his bench from 661 down to the mid to low 500s (501at 1983 World's). Imagine what he would have done 405 for if he was in his 600x6 condition???

@ttward2 Keep in mind that this was before the steroid scandal that hit the world in the early nineties, that forced a lot of people to re-think their opinions on anabolics.

It's kind of annoying how he basically says that in 4 months of training he got a 400lb bench press. That's a misnomer. He was involved in athletics at a high level since his early teens. He did football and shotput at a state level. There's no way in hell that he wasn't weight training for those sports, in shotput especially they train the bench press a lot. What kaz should have said is that with 4 or 5 years of training he could bench 400lb. Still impressive, but not 6 months... Don't worry, I've got lots of admiration for Kaz.
@punypoppy9147
@punypoppy9147 9 жыл бұрын
luthmhor This is propably true, developing 400lb bench in months would be just unthinkable. However there are some freaks of nature like IPF bench specialist Fredrik Smulter who lifted 220lb first time he ever went to gym in year '98 followed by 440lbs in 2001. Official record came a month or so ago in IPF raw competition with 595lbs and is also regularly drug tested. Admire Kazmaier a lot also.

he spoke the truth. he could overhead press his own bodyweight at ten yrs old. its called genetics. you say thats a misnomer, i say HE is the misnomer, gentetics reign supreme in all sports, the reason bill was born so strong is the reason hussein bolt was born so fast. that doesnt mean you shouldnt try to be the best you can, but dont go in with the expectation that the playing field is level, i mean just look around the gym in the video, kaz is a man amongst boys.

Your not a dumb-ass at all..nowadays if you post your opinion on y-tube..people lose total focus of the conversation..next thing ya know, their calling you this or that...saying shit about you or yours that has nothing to do with the topic at hand...its nice to have a grown man post his reply and give his opinion whether we agree or not...and get a perspective from someone elses point of view...like i said before...thanks for the reply brother...ttys

they are taboo because they are cheating,you cant regulate how much each person is on so its not a level playing field.Its also potentially very harmful because athletes will abuse them in order to gain an advantage

oh so all I need do is do steroids and im the strongest out there...!!!! wow, your ignorance is boundless. 'Roids make you able to train harder longer but you still gotta TRAIN HARD like ALL the strongmen did/do/will. Mariusz trained heavy with weights every day and in the afternoons did strongman specific training. He didnt sit on his arse and shoot up with whatever. Besides Testosterone and HGH are hormones NOT 'roids.
