When you have two sentences that can stand on their own and are connecting it with a conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so), you must put a comma on the word before the conjunction. Examples Correct: Robert blushed in embarrassment, but the girls giggled in laughter. Incorrect: Robert’s pants ripped, and tore straight through to his underwear. Why: You do not need a comma here because Robert’s pants are the implied subject. The second half cannot stand by itself.

The part about dressing and grooming is 100% accurate. I’ve seen young people out in public in pajama pants and raggedy logo T shirts and it’s sad. They can’t even muster a nice trouser and crisp shirt/sportcoat. It’s sad. Clothing/grooming is a reflection of self esteem From my observation at least half of our people look like they got their clothes from the goodwill dumpster. No hot guy or gal would be interested in somebody who shows up slovenly or unkempt. It started with ‘casual Friday’ and now it’s ’homeless chic’. 😂 You deserve an Emmy for this season Bill great writing. 🎉

I'm nerdy in different ways, but was thinking the same thing. There are a lot of women who enjoy L.A.R.P. and Ren Fairs and other stuff that many would find repellant or repugnant. To each his or her own. Moreover, there are plenty of women who'll respect and indulge a man's "foibles" when they are attracted to the man (attracted for several other reasons), and they'll enjoy their free time to do their own thing while the man is enjoying his hobby. All interests need not be shared to couple successfully. I'm a mature single woman. I'm geeky as a logophile, and in a few other ways. D&D and gaming aren't my interests, and I don't see myself with a man who is a big gamer (the other kind, with headset and chair, not Maher's G.A.M.E.r) nor a man into L.A.R.P. --but someone who enjoys group face to face game nights, or a range of other things I'm not already into, would not be excluded from consideration.
@whatleft1236 ай бұрын
Um, no. The ratio of nerdy girls to guys playing dice and card games is 100 to 1. As a woman, you probably like those odds. But for the 99 guys you aren't dating that day, they need to pretend to not be interested in that stuff. It doesn't mean you can't be interested in that stuff, but that is 3rd date conversation after you've gotten laid. The first dates are about future plans, positive things happening etc. This goes for any hobby that isn't "normal", that doesn't play into you, as a man being a good parent, provider, and companion.

I think Bill Maher is way off on what is really going on out here in the dating scene. Plus, he's not a married man and never will be, and his generation is not up to date. It almost sounds like he's been recruited to try to make men accept the irresponsibilities of women out here today. Last week was an attack on Tate and the Manosphere. Noted Tate isn't the best role model, but he wasn't lying about how young men and women are carrying on in society today. This week is a lesson on how to date women?? What women exactly, the ones pretending to be men and 304s with astronomical body counts?? And heard what he said, "women are feminists in theory" ??? In theory????...so he admits there's a double-standard women do and men are supposed to shut up and take it?? Well, it just tells us how much out of touch that he is with this crisis.

Someone needs to explain hypergamy and the mouse utopia experiment to old Bill. It's not a coincidence that every single developed country has the exact same problem with birth rates. Also dating app usage isn't decreasing because so many young people are now meeting in person. It's because so many people have given up on dating. The number one way couples meet is still dating apps... there are just fewer of them.

Social Media will convince you of whatever you want. If you don't like what others are saying you scroll on until someone tells you what you want to hear. People used to say I'm not a victim, I'm a survivor. Now everyone is a victim who doesn't think they're going to survive. Life is hard, especially when you're comparing yours to everyone else's. Succeeding is hard, if it was easy everyone would do it. Saying no one has it harder than you does not come from deprivation it comes from expectations. I feel sorry for the Internet generation because it makes it easier to lose hope when you're told there is none. I'm not saying it's easy for you or dismissing your concerns, they're real and justified but the misconception that other generations all owned houses and lived the high life belies the truth of slums, projects, trailer parks and apartment buildings which have always been a part of life.😮

I had many relationships in my teens and into my 20's, but by my 30's I realized life was more fun, simpler and easier if I took it on alone. So many common troubles go away when you're alone. So now I'm 47 and I've been alone for 12 years and in those years I've made more progress than I did in the previous 20 years adulting. A high percentage of women are unreasonable and untrustworthy. Yeah, & he also, I'm guessing, lived in a time before we all became "equal" in all things. There were roles observed that both required something from &, at the same time, benefitted/comforted/bolstered both parties, the female & the male. That's all gone, now. It's ALL gone, now. About 20 years ago, I heard one of the leading activists of the radical 60s-70s feminist movement state that, "Well, we wanted what we thought men had over us, all the good things without considering the bad things about being a man that truly did exist, ..the things we'd rather not be saddled with. We were, to say the least, nearsighted. Well, we won, ..we got our way, ..& found out that it wasn't all about getting the job & holding the money or no more standing on the street & whistling at the girls going by. In the long run, it turns out we also bred or at least created a whole population of smaller, intimidated men & mean, self-absorbed & vindictive women and it's just not working very well for anybody." So, Madam, maybe now it should be you opening doors & pulling out chairs for your "gentleman". Equality's a real gas, isn't it?

The truth is that a lot of guys just aren't interested in dating anymore, especially considering all the effort, expectations, and occasionally nasty rejection they have to go through when they're expected to 'lead.' Seems it's becoming more common for men to feel totally content with their job, video games, online communities, and an occasional fap. As a person who's worked in the tech industry for 7 years, I was surprised the first time I met someone who had zero interest in dating, but over time I realized that it's becoming more common. And no, that doesn't mean that all of the men in this group are unhealthy 'neckbeards' or incels, though I know those exist as an even smaller minority. I'd imagine that a big part of the discrepency between the number of single men vs single women is that some of the guys who are really into dating have multiple girlfriends. They're more appealing, put in more effort, and hell, maybe they're the ambitious go-getters that are going to pass down their genes to future generations. Some folks just want to live and enjoy the life they prefer. Gotta admit, it really is fascinating to see this happen as technology continues to advance though. It's a two-way street, and both men and women need to put in some effort if they truly do care about eachother. If some women become tired of every guy they date turning out to be a deuche, a narcissist, or a player, maybe it's time for it to become more common for women to be the one to reach out to a guy first. Want a good guy as a boyfriend, and tired of trying to change other people in vain? Maybe you'll have to find him instead of expecting him to be searching for you. Don't give up.
