Bill Medley - Hey Jude 1970

Bill Medley sings Hey Jude on the Barbara McNair TV show, 1970. A year earlier, Bill received a standing ovation after singing this song at the Grammy Awards ceremony. It led to a new recording contract and a big boost for his career. Unfortunately for posterity, that performance was not recorded.

He’s just retiring from touring! He’s working on a new album, and will concentrate on producing records and songwriting. He’ll still be around, fortunately.

Sang this at Grammys & re😮ceived 2 or 3 standing ovations but fans will never see it because Grammys control live performances from their shows

The Grammy awards were separate from the music performances at that time, and the performances were not recorded. This changed a year or two later. What a shame! This was the closest I could find, made just a year later.

Seriously?! I was desperately looking for that particular performance after reading Bills autobiography. Saw him in concert a few months back. He was amazing!
