Kentucky's finest and southwest Virginia's finest on the same stage. Perfect.

I remember when THIS was country. Those guys have some serious talent. Now country is pop-rock. I miss the old bluegrass days.

Not too many male singers could sing tenor to Jim McReynolds! Big Mon of course. And Jesse is adding a nice baritone line. Great stuff!

Yes!! Buddy Spicher is the man! He's still cookin' too, and a harmony master. I've seen him take a melody and on the spot put together two hamony parts, one above, one below, and play them at the same time!

I agree. I'm not a very big country fan, but I like a lot of older country due to its roots in blues and folk. Now it seems more like pop-rock about guns, god, and pickup trucks sung in a southern accent.

This is what I call 'blast your face off' bluegrass. If you have been to a bluegrass concert and sat kinda close, you know what I mean.

Thank you so much for posting this. Love the twin fiddles and twin mandolins, and Bill's high baritone harmony over Jim and Jesse. Super. As Bill Monroe introduces, Buddy Spicher, fiddle. Mark Squires, fiddle. Tater Tate, bass. Blake Williams, banjo. John Euen, guitar, Bill Monroe, mandolin plus Jesse McReynolds, mandolin, and Jim McReynolds, guitar. They did it up right. Perfect speed & timing, imho...

How, beautiful! Thanks, BluegrassLibrary, for posting this!!! Jim McReynolds reminds me so much of Del (McCoury) here. Funny. Awesome clip. I was too stupid to watch this show when it was current on television!

I believe that New Country was the name of the TV show that this clip came from; the description didn't make that very clear.
