My favorite was when Letterman had Don King on and Letterman's first question to King was "So Don, what's with the hair?". I busted out laughing at that one.
@TontoEpstein7 жыл бұрын
Technically it was, "What do you suppose the deal is with Don's hair?" And it was at the end of a 10-minute interview in 1982 (back when Letterman used to be great), it wasn't the first question.

Dr. TJ But isn't that the most obvious intro? I think so. Nobody has ever said anything about King's hair for that very reason. It's like the cheap shot or easy one. I don't think it's funny nor was it germaine to what he's known for which is, a boxing promoter. You must have split a gut watching The Three Stooges back in the day.

Favorite bit was with the science kids. No one was funnier at the time talking to kids than Letterman. Kimmel has learned from Dave quite well in this regard. His kid bits are funny too.

Have lived half my life in NYC and CGO and both are awesome. Being raised in NYC and having some pretty famous offspring bars, that i have no reason to mention, as a kid I've met some crazy and amazing characters. Chicago, has so many and most are from the fringe suburbs. Bill came from Wilmette, Jesuit schooled, and yes gang, that's important for many reasons but he's the ultimate Chicago best and this interview along with Kimmel is really cool

For sure! He’s intriguing, confident and doesn’t give a shit- no pretense. He’s real and soooo funny! I love his mannerisms and his boyish look despite his age. It’s in his eyes- a glint and a glimmer. I would think that if he found a woman interesting she really must be something extraordinary! I would think his admiration would be intoxicating. This is the kind of man that would make my clothes fall off- more than any hottie in Hollywood.

Kimmel was spot on about the one thing that pretty much is the difference between Letterman and Leno......If you were a guest of Davids and you were on Fire funny...He'd let you run with it and even help that person along too....where as Jay would actually try to be more funny as if he was insecure that his guest "just might" come off being funnier than Jay.....just my take. Cheers
@theodorestavinoha76894 жыл бұрын

johnny carson was the purist late night talk show host, meaning that he was able to handle every situation with grace and laughter. david letterman was his equal, with a little more goofiness. of all the late night host, i dont believe there has been any of them more coveted than dave. johnny will always be considered the best because of his professionalism, but there was something about dave that made him...... special. the host today try to turn their shows into game shows, without any context of an interview. making the show fun doesnt have to be "lets play a game of ...(insert silly name here)". having bill and jimmy speak candidly (which i am assuming they did) here shows the respect they give dave. i salute them. dave, in my mind, will always be the best host. and im not sure where biff is, but i wont rest until i find him!!!

My favorite all-time David Leterman episode?: When Dave read a letter about Cher comparing the "the pink stuff" versus "the blue stuff" (giggles from Dave). Dave says "I think the blue stuff is Equal and the pink stuff is Sweet-'n-Lo. What do you think Paul?" Paul Schaffer responds "Dave, I think the pink stuff she referring to is Pepto Bismol", then he proceeds to pour Pepto Bismol on a bowl of cereal AND EAT IT!!! Well, I found it so hilarious... Gross Dude humor, I guess.
