My brother worked as a NYC cop for an entire year in downtown Manhattan, following the 9/11 attacks. Dave had an apartment in that area and was extremely generous in providing a great deal of fine food and drinks for all of the first responders. He also visited with them and thanked them for their work. Made a point in keeping this quiet and without any publicity, as is his way. A real class act.

@@daz5196 A thing to consider is the power dynamic in that circumstance. The boss having sex with an intern (the least of the least on the ladder) whether consensual or not, is problematic and "inappropriate" is exactly the right word to describe it.

@@chefrico1780 Absolutely. If that is what was meant then I'd of course agree. It's a clear abuse of his position. I just read it differently. Which is why I was saying my understanding is that it was an affair between two consenting adults.

OMG I wish you could talk to David every night. He was the 1st talk show host I stayed up late to watch when I was a kid. I'm still hooked. Love his hilarious stories ❤

This is so great. I know how Jimmy admires Dave and Dave's complements I'm certain mean the world to him. Plus Jimmy deserves it. He did a bang up job at the Oscars, smooth, professional. I particularly liked how casual and relaxed he came off doing the show. Must have put others at ease, too. Nice going, Jimmy. One of the best Oscar Shows yet.

I really loved Dave's interview show on Netflix. His style has changed from the Late Show, but I enjoy how much fun he's having. I still can't ever get over that beard every time I see him.

I watched Dave faithfully for many years. It was heartbreaking for me when he ended his run on late night. The man is one of a kind. What made him so funny is the fact you never know what is going to come out of his mouth. He's incredibly intelligent and goofy which made his interviews all the more engaging. He could make most mundane guest interesting. He's interviewed Presidents and other heads of state then turn a 180 and interview Paris Hilton!! Yes, he did poke fun of some of them but that's his way. I just love the work he does now. He has an incredible presence and still has that sharp sense of humor that makes him so unique. Loves that he refers to Jimmy as "James". LoL!!!!

Dave really set the bar for fantastic musical guests of all levels and genres. I always felt like he was a fan of each band on his stage. And every host of late night shows that's attempted to repeat that level has created so much joy for those of us who get to experience it on their shows.

It's just plain heartwarming to see the love and respect Jimmy K has for Letterman. It's a beautiful thing to have someone to look up to. I've been fortunate to have my older brother set an amazing example and pace for me my whole life. Although there are enough "Days", I wish that they had a "National Role Model Day" for folks.
