@ You’re right. People shoveling dirt into pails. People jumping with a marker on the wall. People swinging pails with paint unto a canvas. People slithering on the floor. You’re right, my brother and I did all these when we were kids in the mid 60s Didn’t know we were already doing modern art.
@Erik_AhlАй бұрын
@@Amtcboy I know it can be confusing, but art is so much more than just a painting on a canvas and should not be limited to just that medium. Who are we to judge if someone finds beauty and meaning in piles of dirt or people slithering on the floor?
@AmtcboyАй бұрын
@ You’re right again. On second thought, it’s the aesthete’s taste and judgement, whether one likes it or not. Everyone is free to say which ones are good, which ones are out of this world and rubbish. Right there, aesthetes judge. Art is at the mercy of those who look at them.

Peace and Light to you, as well. There are answers with what we feel and experience. Jung saw how his dreams and those of his patients opened our heart, mind and soul. He reminded us of Gauguin in his Mysterium Coniunctionis on our inner connection. Having been thru Jungian analysis, I agree with Wm Wordsworth on "Immortality." "Our birth is but a sleep and forgetting, Our soul that rises with us, our life's star, Hath elsewhere its setting and cometh from afar, Not in entire forgetfulness, And not in utter nakedness, But trailing clouds of glory do we come From God, who is our home: Heaven lies about us in our infancy! Sending in the clown now and then is part of it.

i go to art galleries more than occasionally, never heard of it. It is pretty cool how it has gotten good attributions from diverse directions: Bill Murray, popular during the early days of the depression*, Willa Cather, Van Gogh and how it means different things to different people. Chicago might be a tough get for me, but.... it's on the list Kinda curious how Eleanor Roosevelt "unveiled it" when it was presumably already on display? Or was this revealing the winner of the "most popular" picture in a survey? (and why was Eleanor Roosevelt involved?) ... ... so the answer to that is she was attending the Chicago World's Fair "A century of progress" in 1934. It also had a mention in Thomas Wolfe's "Look Homeward Angel" I'm sure it's pretty popular now but interesting how iconic it must have been of the times early 20th century.
