Excellent footage of Lake Tahoe, I enjoyed the footage of the beach and the scenes on the way to and back from the beach. Such a nice area. I also loved the scenery inside of Bill's Garage, which just continues to give you so much gold. Once again, a very impressive haul....and that Sundays find was quite phenomenal!

I'm glad you liked it.. I really wanted to share the east shore with everyone.. such a special place. So many have found out about it, but that's OK.. It is kept clean, and Tahoe is an almost pristine lake ! In the 1970's the clarity was over 100 feet.. crystal clear visibility !

The scenery is breathtaking, Jt. "Call Me" is excellent. I love everything Al recorded for HI Records. Get the Balance Right looked like new. Very nice J.J. Cale album, I think I have a copy of that one. Pops Staple could really get funky with his guitar. Long May You Run is such a beautiful song. That is truly a car song. That Sundays record is crazy, I've never seen that one, what a find. The footage was wonderful. Thank God for all of the snow.

My first visit to the USA was in 1974 and didn’t make it to Lake Tahoe, but traveled the whole of Highway 101 as far as Vancouver through to Baja California to La Paz Mexico when I was just 21, great times! Nice travelogue at the beginning, beautiful scenery. And what a haul! Spirit 12 Dreams is excellent, love Nature's Way. Always need a good Stones comp, good selection of songs on that one. Who By Numbers is another great one. Grand Funk Closer to Home is my fave of theirs. That's an underrated Kinks album, their Arista period was pretty prolific. Had some BowWowWow LPs but they got purged a few years ago, maybe time to revisit those. Thanks Jt, for sharing your digs at Bill's, I always enjoy these vids.

Records and travelogue - subjects that I can get into easily. Used to drive up there and found a bunch of garage 45's at an Incline Village thrift store, then would hit up Joby's in Incline and Tahoe City and Truckee, but before I hit Truckee I would have a couple pints at Pete and Peters in Tahoe City. Beautiful area in the summer.

Pete And Peters !! Johnny B. is an old friend, and my Pool Team ( The Gold Spike Tahoma ) would terrorize his team on his 8 ft tables ! Joby's was good, a little pricy.. I like your mention of the thrift stores up on North Shore.. They are generally way better down here, though.. I sure appreciate you watching, and speaking of the old days at the lake !! ✌Thanks..

@@jtsrecordroom3963 I liked Pete and Peters a lot, although I came to the conclusion that it's not good to frequent a bar 50 miles away from where you live. Nice oasis when I was up there, though. One of the Joby's was in Kings Beach, not Incline like I said. Went into the one in Tahoe City once and wiped out his Sensational Alex Harvey Band section, much to the owners surprise. Also got some high quality Moby Grape bootleg cd's that I had never seen before. Made the trip worthwhile.

@@madmanman1 Right !! I thought that's what you meant. I lived in Kings Beach for many years, and went into Joby's often.. Downtown Kings Beach ! I had quit drinking and everything by 1990.. So driving to Pete's was less dangerous than pre 1990... I had survived the 1980's up there at North Shore.. a 24 hr. town in my circle ! 😳finally moved down the hill ( Reno ) in 2003.

Tahoe is always cold ! In the summer, the surface water warms to 58 to 64 degrees or so.. really refreshing to jump in ! In the shallows, it can get close to 70. Thanks for letting me share this with you guys ! The East Shore is my favorite place on earth ! See you on yours, Chris..🥲

@Craig_KCfan Some probably have damage, or too dusty. If the inner is turned sideways, I generally know that it's gonna be a good record without cleaning.That's why I pass by some that folks like in the flip vids. Lots of good vinyl .. still !

That Specimen Returning From A Journey is a good 12”. I’ve never seen that plain white cover. It was in the the box you were flipping through. The Sundays is a nice surprise. As a kid we used to go to Lake Tahoe in the summer.

5:00 ah Sunshine Company...one of my mum's favourites from the 60s. Kind of a sunshine pop knock off of Mama's and the Papas but pretty good. I never heard "Reading Writing Arithmetic" on vinyl but the two singles always sounded amazing. It was that weird time when companies were moving away from vinyl and I only had the album on tape and I wore it out in my walkman. 8:40 love that Getz / Gilberto album although I always imagine myself in an elevator when I hear it :D. I remember Cut, I didn't think it was one of Earring's better records but I remember taping late night music video shows and "Twilight Zone" would always come up (I was too young to be watching those kinds of videos).

No.. his garage is not temperature controlled. I do a lot of digging, and some of the best records that I have ever found are from places like storage units, garages.. rough places like that. Think about it.. Many records that brick and mortar stores sell come from places like these.. They take them, buy collections, boxes of records from someone, and clean them up, put them in the bins, folks come in .. buy them up, not knowing the original source of records that have been sitting for 20 years plus in some undesirable spot according to collector's. One thing we have going for us here in the high desert, is it is very dry, with out mold issues. I always think about this when I'm digging.. "where were these records before I got to them"

No.. That wasn't me.My friends, the Cook Brothers used to launch of off that ledge ( 3,000 ft. drop ) That's where I skied and worked part time on the mountain.. Slide Mountain on the Nevada side. He is a thrifter like me, and he sold for cheap to a guy once, a few years ago.. He says he regrets it.. .1.00 to 50 cents per record ! He tells me, you should have seen what I had ! Funny.. right ! Also he was a radio DJ in Northern California, and he used to thrift in small towns like Chico, Ca and then here in Reno, were historically it's always been very good finding very cheap great records ! Hey Jt. Shelter Records was distributed by several major labels over the years. Every time they changed distributors they rereleased the Shelter catalogue all over again. Hence the differing Shelter labels. I just found a great copy of Cale’s first, as my original was getting worn out. Very good Cockburn record. Also great Kinks record. Great finds as usual. Cheers.

I enjoyed the extra travel scenes. I would have a hard time with restraint with all those records available. I know several people that love that Spirit album. I just picked up that Golden Earing record as well. I love The Who By Numbers album as it is one of my favorites. I love that Bruce Cockburn record although I would place Stealing Fire and Humans a little ahead of it. I need to get more of the later Kinks into the collection. Fantastic scores.

Nice pickup with the Getz/Gilberto. I only have a re-issue on compact disc. I need to get some Al Green. My Asbury Park copy is on CD as well. Very nice on the Stills/Young band. The cover art looks more impressive on the LP than the compact disc version I have. I picked up a japanese pressing of Jazz Samba for a really cheap price a couple of years ago, it's great! I have several Charlie Byrd records as well. He was an amazing guitarist. Chimney Beach looks like my kind of place! ✌

At the beginning of the vid next to the Al Green album on the brown chair was a hip hop album called Mobb Deep you should grab that for sure, even if you don’t dig hip hop you could trade it or sell for top dollar

Is slide Mountain overlooking Washoe Valley popular during Ski season say December or is this summer only? nice Kinks , 5th Dimension , nice Spirit, Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Geltz Gilberto , Golden earing , Stills and Young , Who by numbers , Lynyrd Skynyrd Grand Funk Railroad, Bow wow wow , nice Stones , I will assume you have Rio ? For Bow Wow wow did you get the album because it has a few good tracks, do you have any of their other albums? I see some Canoes ? are people allowed Wave Runners at this beach ? some beautiful beaches and scenery!!!

Wave runners are not allowed on Lake Tahoe. No two-stroke engines allowed. You see a lot of ski boats and sailboats.. canoes and kayaks, too !

Haha.. Fortunately, I have both ! "Crime Of The Century" I scored at The Coffer ( Mobile Fidelity ).. I showed it on my "4 For 4 Thrift store Score" video. Hey Greg.. So, I thought I had this Strawbs already.. and I don't . So thanks for the heads up, and I was going back for it, anyway this Tuesday ! The Depeche Mode is a 12 '. but I want that one as well, and I think you are speaking of Dead Set. I have a perfect copy, and copies of all of those GD records.. I am aware of the values, I am missing Mars Hotel, and I am getting ready to buy the new re press of "Europe 72" as I am missing my old copy ! Thanks again.
