Young Guns starring EMELIOOOOOOOO Estevez is based on the life of Billy The Kid, seriously one of the best Westerns of its era. Young Guns 2 was pretty good too, y'know, for a sequel. Keifer Sutherland (Lost Boys) is in it too as Doc, one of Billy's best frienemies and Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba) as Chavez, his most loyal Pal.

This movie and its sequel were a huge part of my childhood. I’m so old, I still have VHS tapes of the first 2 Bill and Ted movies. The references make more sense if you lived in Canada or the U.S. in the 1980’s or ‘90s. Most of the historical references would need to be looked up as well. The second movie is actually just as funny.

Keanu's first movie role was at 17 years old playing a hockey goalie in Youngblood starring Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze, before that he was in a couple tv commercials. The casting director wanted an unknown actor with hockey experience and Keanu's name came up (He's from Ontario where parts of the movie locations were scouted including the arena for the Windsor Spitfires who Keanu was in pre-season training camp for in 1984). Keanu really was a goalie, he was eligible for the 1985 NHL draft, but to take the role he had to decide whether to quit playing hockey and leave the Spitfire camp before the start of the 1984/85 season (the movie was scheduled to be filmed in winter/spring 1985 midway through the season to playoffs) or try to win a Stanley Cup. He chose to do the movie.

Mario Lemieux was taken first overall in 1985 by the Pittsburgh Penguins. That's the draft Keanu would have been part of.

This is one of the movies I watch when I was in high School. We didn't have all that work done by Friday movie time no movie. Friday's where cool. Know school work for the rest of the day. Sit back a couple snacks since it's not a drink and watch a movie for the evening until you had to go home from school. School library hours open for another 2 hours after school hours. I want to listen to + 1/2 city blocks away so I stayed an hour and a half and got my home work done. No I don't have no homework for the weekend. I didn't want nothing to stop me from going camping during memorial Day weekend. I love food made out camping better than meals made in side.

Apparently Abraham Lincoln, at least when young, was a bit of a party animal. Reading a biography of President Millard Fillmore, Fillmore once described a dinner party he went to where there was a young lawyer who had the whole party laughing like crazy. That young lawyer was Abraham Lincoln. He apparently was very social and very funny. So...Party on DUDE!

This is what helps me when doing an accent; say it how it's actually spelled. So, "Slide by on your way home" would should be said as; "Slyd'by on yo'r way home".

Hope you guys do the other two Bill and Ted movies they made. They did Bogus Journey not long after this one and then almost 30 years later they did a third one which was just as good in my opinion.

If you wanna lean more about Billy the Kid, watch the movie “Young Guns”. It’s a fairly accurate retelling of his life during the Lincoln County War. Although it’s been pretty confirmed that he and Pat Garret never knew each other until……well you’ll see.

Alex Winters' career wasn't as big as Keanu's but he was one of the vampires in The Lost Boys. That movie came out a week before Near Dark, a far more violent and gory vampire movie starring half the cast of Aliens. Near Dark is the better movie but The Lost Boys was more popular, particularly among teen girls because it starred the Two Coreys, Feldman and Haim. Most new channels react to The Lost Boys around Halloween because people have heard of it, it gets views based on recognition, but it's cliche, been done a million times (probably literally) which is why I would suggest Near Dark BECAUSE nobody has heard of it or never saw it if they did. If Near Dark came out 2 weeks earlier The Lost Boys would be considered the copycat even though the only similarity is vampires being the baddies.

Steve Vai did the guitar shredding close-ups for Rufus. Steve was in Crossroads and did both his and Ralph Macchio's (The Karate Kid) guitar parts. Steve was a student of the legendary Joe Satriani who also taught Metallica's Kirk Hammett and Testament's Alex Skolnick. Watch Steve's music video "Teeth Of The Hydra", very awesome.
