I fucking love listening to Bill he has an amazing Spirit

Bill is too humble when speaking about himself, he was a great center and if it wasn't for those injuries he would've been a top five of all time great center.

JL you’re right about Bill. I’ll never forget his play against Tom Burleson and UNC. That’s went I became a Bill Walton fan.

@@scottdavidson7001 You obviously didn't watch "Big Red" with the beard leading and taking a Portland franchise to the promised land. Gave a small market team their first Title and put them on the map. If not for bad feet I honestly feel Walton could have been the best center ever or definitely top 5 ever.
@arturobolanos90804 жыл бұрын
He was a good Center but not a Hall of Fame Center.
@bricefleckenstein96664 жыл бұрын
He is in the Hall as THE most dominant COLLEGE center of all time. Keep in mind the Hall is the BASKETBALL Hall of Fame, not the NBA Hall of Fame. His NBA career got cut too short, or he'd be a TOP *3* center and probably #1 all time, but his actual NBA career he might not be a Top 10 Center there.

In college, I had a professor who had the exact personality of Bill Walton. The dude went to Stanford from 68-72 and was involved in the music and activist scene in those days. Like Walton, hearing any story he had was amazing. I watch Walton interviews sometimes just to remember him. There is some special kind of spirit in dudes like that. They're rare and to be treasured!

What a legendary basketball player and human being! Bill reminds us that there is so much more to life than our jobs and that kindness will always prevail. So many stories, he faced so much adversity and yet he is a still such a beacon of positivity. He doesn't get the love now but those that saw him know he was among the finest to ever play this game.

Being a Duck fan, I watched Bill throughout his time at UCLA and when He became a Blazer, I was stoked! Got to see him play against Kareem a few times in the Memorial Coliseum, here in Portland and still have his and Maurice Lucas' jerseys and wear them proudly! Although his body let him down, he's such a great ambassador for basketball and I just love listening to him when he's the color guy doing PAC12 games! I love that he's just Bill and lays it all out there, every game!!!

Wow, Walton is one knowledgeable guy in the sport of basketball, fantastic memory, able to recite, let he was reading from a teleprompter, you can tell he enjoys life, his enthusiasm, very positive person, it rubs off on you, au little bit, tells you all the little stories, you never heard or reported in the sport edition of newspaper or sports magazine, I like stuff like that, he tells it like it is without offending anyone.

If not for that injury four years into his NBA career, Bill would have been HOF gold. He averaged 18 pts and 13 rebounds. Dropped off considerably after the injury. Great player, great interview, great character. Max entertainment.

I was on some hifi web group thing. People talking about speakers. Years ago. I think people were buying and selling their stuff too. All of a sudden I was dealing with Bill. The next day I had to think about whether it was real or not... Then about five years ago I hit the restaurant at the 4 Seasons here in San Francisco with a friend after a late movie, to get a late dinner, and there's Bill sitting with three other giant men. All retired, all looking amazing. We were hoping if we looked pathetic enough....

Before they came along the ratings were in the toilet. I remember in 1980 and the NBA finals game 6 between the 76ers and Lakers was shown on tape delay. Plus so many NBA players at the time were having major drug problems.

MVP FMVP 2x NBA Champion 6MOY 2x All Defensive First Team 2x All Star 2x NCAA Champion 2x Final Four Most Outstanding Player 3x College Player of the Year He went almost FIVE YEARS WITHOUT LOSING A GAME: His high school team started a winning streak when he was a junior, then went undefeated his senior year Freshmen were ineligible to play varsity when he went to UCLA, so he led the freshman team to an undefeated season UCLA then put together back-to-back 30-0 seasons As a senior, they won their first thirteen games before finally losing @ Notre Dame ****************** I don't know why he's not hall of famer just solely based on these accomplishments. It's BASKETBALL hall of fame, not NBA Hall of fame.
