I love this. Great ideas! ❤ I want to convert an enclosed trailer vs. buying a travel trailer, so it's actually what I need.

My cargo conversion has a 240-volt mini split I deliberately installed. I also have plenty of campgrounds with 240-volt 50-amp connections. Mine is 7x16 as well, but my wife and I built it out ourselves. Of course, I use a generator if I am dispersed camping. My gen is dual fuel, so I can use the onboard propane if necessary.

In the last 5 1/2 years of full-time living, we've encountered several Corp of Engineer campgrounds that only have 30 amp service, which is, of course, 110/120 volts. In addition, our battery bank and inverter is based on the 110/120 volt format. We, personally, prefer not to use a generator, but we do intend to have one as backup only.

Bill you made a misstatement, Campgrounds do indeed have 220vac. A 50amp connection is 220vac. Also a suggestion to improve your videos. I am very hard of hearing (25 year Navy airdale)so if you would at least have your guest wear a BT mic connected to your camera it would immensely cut down on background noise.

I knew someone might weigh in on the 220 volt thing. It is true, 50 amp service is 2 hot legs at 50 amps each, on ground and one neutral, and in some cases, if the trailers panel was wired correctly, 50 amp service could be utilized to power a 220 volt appliance. However, in the last 5 1/2 years of full-time "living" as Nomads, we have encountered several campgrounds that only have 30 amp service, which is (technically) a 110/120 volt outlet. In fact, the very campground this video was filmed at, there is only one site that has 50 amp service and there are 47 sites in that campground.

Beautiful build. Not for me. I'm much more simplistic. Everything I have must be at least dual-purpose. I'm more of a nomad build, I guess.

That's the beauty of this culture. Build what works for you. We'd love to do a walk thru video on your build someday.

@@billanddeb, I hope to retire in 2025 and attend one of your get-togethers. How do I get on the information list?
