The difference between regular fries and vegan fries is that regular fries can be cooked in the same grease with meat products like, fried chicken or chicken nuggets. Then the grease you cook them in can make a difference too, like lard versus peanut oil.

I heard that some restaurants put beef essence in their fries for flavor, some fry in lard… that would make them not vegan. These are fried in vegetable oil I would assume… making them really vegan. Looks like a good burger too!!! Enjoy!

I found your channel while looking at Carnival Panorama videos, but as a vegan this video caught my eye! I just wanted to say I appreciate your openness to try a vegan joint! We’ve come a LONG way. As for the fries, generally it’s the oil that would make it not vegan. But potatoes are of course vegan on their own. Next time you’re in Vegas I highly recommend Chef Kenny’s Asian Vegan (favorites are kung pao chicken, spicy crispy beef, and all the dim sum!) and Tacotarian (recommend the Birria Platter). My meat eater mom in California only comes to visit if I promise to take her to Chef Kenny’s. Haha

All fries can be Vegan, but it requires a separate and pure deep fryer as some take exception to the fries being cooked in the same fry oil and Chicken, fish and especially wings. Since there are no animal products served at SV, the marketing is just reassurance and a reminder that all fries are not Vegan.

Bill, Just FYI just because the burger is vegan doesn't make it healthy. I thought the same thing before I bought the Carl's Jr vegan burger. I looked up the nutrition and was surprised that a regular burger was not as healthy as I thought it was. My son is a vegan and would love this place

Love the vegan vibe! Vegan fries would mean they're fried in plant-based oil. I think Shake Shack uses from beef fat in theirs, but don't quote me.

Frying beef fat is much more healthy then frying in veg oil, and the food tastes better. Veg oil breaks down at high heat.

McDonald's fries are not vegan or vegetarian. In the US, they use a beef flavoring (supposedly a milk product) to give the fries flavor. I actually learned this from a Paris Hilton cooking show lol, but its true!

McDonald’s and other fast food joints used to make GREAT fries using beef tallow (later, fancier places used duck fat). McDonald’s in USA succumbed to vegan pressure and changed to oil, which greatly compromised their original flavor which changed their FF from GREAT to just meh. Hence, vegan fries.

Interesting video! I’m hesitant to go to a vegan place to eat a burger because I don’t know what it’s made out of ? Sometimes these Meat imitations are made out of chemicals. So I know because it’s delicious but I’d rather eat real meat than to eat chemically pressed food. I think Lisa’s was more real because it was actual plantain but I’m not sure about Bill’s burger. Also the french fries are made out of potato and that’s a vegetable lol. Thank you for sharing your experience and if you know what Bills burger was made of it would be nice to know. Most restuarant fries AREN'T vegan, because they fry meat products in the same fryer/ fry oil. It's hard to find a place that has a dedicated GF/Vegan fryer.

That vegan burger is worse for you than a regular burger because all the additives and preservatives they use to make the “patty” and “bacon”. They also load Vegan food with tons of sauce so you can’t taste the artificial flavors.
