Hey Iris and Wil! As you know, we're pretty loyal to Carnival, working our way up to the Platinum level so far. As for the best cruise for you guys, take a look at the number of nights and ports you'll be visiting, and where you're sailing from. That may decide which cruise line you'll go with. As a general rule, Carnival tends to be more of a fun-party ship, whereas Royal Caribbean is more laid back (we've only been on one and that's what we noticed). That all said, Carnival Panorama, 7 nights... that's our pick. =)

What are your recommendations when booking a cruise? Direct vs Costco vs travel company?

We have always booked directly with Carnival. We're not sure if third party bookings count towards their reward program.

Carnival has removed self service laundry rooms on their new Excel class ships. Since this ship was transferred over from Costa to Carnival it too does not have self service laundry. Only the older ships have them.

That's too bad. We liked this option on the Panorama.

They kept a room on the Excel class with an iron and ironing board but on the Firenze, Luminosa and Venezia they have no washers, dryers or irons on board. Only valet laundry service. It’s an additional source of revenue for the company.

Yes, Carnival has a parking garage on site. Think it’s around $20-25 per day.

Only during deck and atrium parties. Other than that, felt very open. You can always find places on the ship where you're all alone.

Actually , i would say less than average.Carnival is Not known for its cuisine...lets be honest.Must use specialty restaurants for a decent meal on Carnival!🎉😂

We think for the average taste palate, the food overall will fit the bill. But, for a foodie, the included food, with a few exceptions, may be less than stellar. That said, we know what to expect in the MDR and from the specialty restaurants which is the reason we enjoy dining at the steakhouse, Italian restaurant, teppanyaki, etc.
