Love Chinese Dim Sum and Steakhouses? Let's check out Tim Ho Wan and Scotch 80 Prime, both at the Palms Casino Resort. These two restaurants at the Palms seem to be 'under the radar' when we're talking about Dim Sum and steaks as they both get overshadowed by the ever popular AYCE Buffet.

Going to Vegas in couple weeks and planning eat some Dim Sum. Bill and Lisa what do you guys recommend this place, the place at Aria or go to Chinatown?

If you're looking for some no-frill, deep rooted Chinese dim sum at reasonable prices, check out Orchids Garden on W Sahara Ave. Want an elevated dining experience? Tim Ho Wan delivers on taste and is moderately priced. Din Tai Fung (at the Aria) offers Taiwanese style dumplings and noodles. Probably the most priciest of the 3, but their XLB soup dumplings deliver a flavor explosion that can't be beat. Our recommendation? Try all 3.

After seeing and hearing Lisa rave about the rib cap, lobster tail and the Mac and cheese I gotta try it. My question is did you like this better than Oscar's? There's so many excellent steak houses in Vegas it's hard to determine the best. Prime in Bellagio is a favorite. Anyway you said you preffered Oscars for the rib cap. How about in total! Considering food, price, sevice? I can only go to 1 or 2 each trip. I go 2 times a year tops. You go at least 2 X a month. I wish I worked for Delta. Lol

@@nicknicholas3186 We always recommend Oscar's if you can only visit one steakhouse on your trip. Just make sure to make reservations early for best day/time selections.

I tried all of them. My top choice still Orchid Garden for variety and you can eat more for your buck lol. Din Tai Fung and Tim Ho just the experience and location and it’s alright.

Umm… Michelin stars are given to a specific location, that a Michelin inspector has visited and rated. They’re not given to chains or even chefs, despite what people say. A chef may own or work at a Michelin star restaurant, but the star stays with the restaurant, even if the chef moves to another or sells it. Tim Ho Wan at the Palms is a branch of a restaurant chain whose Hong Kong location has a Michelin star. The Las Vegas branch does not have a star, or even the same menu.

Great video. We also like bass pro shops. My hubby likes to buy the clothes and I like the unusual spices and rubs they have. First time we were there we spent probably close to 3 hours! Had a great time looking at the decor of the place. We also drive so we can load up on things lol! Your lunch and dinner looked absolutely delicious.

Thanks so much for sharing this experience!! I'm staying at The Palms in a couple weeks, & I'm wanting to try both of these restaurants. I KNOW that I'm gonna eat at Tim Ho Wan, even if I go by myself. I made a reservation for my party in advance at Scotch 80, but I was just thinking ahead, & haven't run the idea by anyone yet, so I'm not sure if we'll actually eat there. The price points are a little intimidating, but it looks so worth it 🤤

ohhh Auntie and Uncle two more great places for me to add on my list of must tries. I love me some Dim Sum I defiantly will try Tim Ho Wan. Scotch 80 looks awesome. I never had the Rib cap before but I would love to try that along with the Millionaire Mac & Cheese . That lobster looked amazing. I can not wait to get to the Palms. This might be a odd questions but is there a dress code , I am a tee shirt and shorts , but if there is i'll wear my Hawaiian shirt lol. Domo :)

I recently had an excellent Mac & Cheese. The difference was garlic and truffle oil. I think the truffle oil is what really made it so good.

I love bone marrow. Spread it on warm crusty Italian bread is amazing. The BBQ place, Maybels is the best. Buffet at Palms used to be good and reasonable pre Covid.
