One Foot never got to the top half of the charts. Sit Next to Me just barely got inside the top 50, and it looks like the song has already peaked. Until we get a number of these songs hitting the top 20 like Feel it Still, hold off on the 2012 talk. You have to remember that the indie boom was largely a backlash against all the club music. Whatever we get next will be a backlash against trap.

Last year a kind of underground garage rock artist named Ron Gallo released an album called "Heavy Meta", and if you want music that pretty heavily calls back to the Stones, check him out. In fact, some have accused him of ripping off the stones. With both Eric Church and Ron Gallo, I feel like they aren't rip offs because, they go for different things. Their aims are not the kind of Rolling Stone's songs of provocation, they aim for different kinds of things, use similar musical ideas to bring different things. That's my take anyways. And Eric Church is not stealing that much Stones.

This is how the new entries should look more often in the future, a lot of variety and also many pretty good songs that eventually could become hits in the next weeks. Very glad that "Remind Me To Forget" and "Ocean" managed to chart and "Desperate Man" by Eric Church definitely deserves to become a success. It will be interesting to see if "Summertime Magic" becomes a bigger hit later on but considering it is only a Summer-themed song it is rather unlikely.

I would argue that Remind me to Forget isn’t going for angst so much as the feeling of moving on with your life after a bad relationship. To me, the way the drop sounds absolutely makes sense, and I think it’s one of Kygo’s best songs.

Not gonna lie, it feels good to see tracks from Scorpion fall down or exit the chart. Didn't care that much about the album and the overexposure pushed me away even further from listening to it. Finally listened to Jumpsuit. It's great. Oh and yeah, I've also managed to listen to Growing Pains. That one's a 4/5, wish it ended less abruptly. About time I saw Remind Me To Forget on the Hot 100. It's pretty popular on the top 40 radio stations in my country. And while it's a 3/5, I still think it is better than some of the stuff I hear there. Bebe Rexha interpolates Bitch? At one point I was mixed on the original song, so I'm not that interested in the results. G-Eazy has a third song charting this year? Yeah, whatever. I guess hearing Him & I on the radio too often made me numb to him in general. Don't get why one would reference a pony in a sex jam. Was writing Fr Fr easier that the whole phrase? Why am I not surprised that Juice WRLD collaborated with Lil Uzi Vert? I listened to God Is A Woman once. Don't have an opinion on it yet. Would love to see Delicate in the top 10 next week.
