I love this version. Chvrches made the song more to their style and it total works. Amazing chilled vibe. I listened to the original and it's not really my type of style. Any one can say that this song is better than the original and i couldn't get more agree, but actually both are different styles and this has other arrangements...any way i think lauren's voice it's amazing, she's so sweet and it's a really good cover. like when you hear missing by the "everything but the girl" and you listen later the cover of paradise lost.

Pretty much every cover they do is a departure from the original sound, which is pretty great in my opinion. I would say it's far more difficult to create your own interpretation of a song and have it sound good than to imitate the original.

I think it's strange that people always have to compare which one is better. Covers are not meant to sound alike nor better, the meaning of a cover is to appreciate the original artist and to show your own interpretation of the song. It's kind of a tribute. It's a mix of your own creativity and the original's.

Lauren must have been quite nervous playing in front of Janelle and other women she looks up to. She certainly seemed relieved when Janella hugged her at the end. Lauren sang wonderfully while Iain and Martin performed admirably. Sincere and talented.

Chvrches took an already great song and put their own unique spin on it. They slowed it down, put all of the focus on the vocals (her voice is really lovely and it really does need to be showcased), and then added some laid back, chill instrumental parts to back her up. AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM DOING THAT... For some reason people always think slow has to be super emotional or dramatic, but that's not the case. The tempo of a song doesn't dictate the mood of the song. But, anyway, this is a great cover of Janelle's song. No, it may not be what you want it to be, but based on most of the negative comments about it, a lot of y'all might as well stop listening to covers all together. A cover shouldn't sound exactly like the original; there's no point to a cover if there are no new, original ideas brought to it. A cover should reflect the sound and ideas of the person making it, and this performance does exactly that. Also, Janelle seems to really enjoy their take on HER song, so there's no need to trash this cover and say things like "nobody should touch Janelle's music" when Janelle HERSELF obviously approves of it. /endrant

Chvrches dont really do "covers" in the traditional sense. They use other peoples songs as inspiration to make a whole new Chvrches song. If you removed the lyrics it would be difficult to tell it was even the same song. They nail it pretty much every single time.

I love Chvrches, but if there's one thing about them I don't care for, it's a lack of stage presence. In almost ever live performance I've watched of them, they're just standing around the whole time. I get it's difficult because they're usually on their machines, but it makes it a bit boring. LOVE their music though.
