just goes to show, you dont always get success, but damn, what defines success? It's just a frame of mind, these guys, ARE success IMO. What dedication, what drive, amazing story, and these guys deserve every bit they got.

if any one deserves to be reconized, it's anvil. i saw the documentary on them, and i have to say, i was nearly in tears. the enthusiasim and determination these lads have, should inspire any one. the warmth and desperation shown at times, has your heart jumping out of your chest. in a world of fake simon cowellesque crappy shallow entertainment, lips and robb, show the world they care about what they do. so good on you lads, and long may it continue.

I got to fucking meet BOTH of these guys at Dulles International Airport in 2010 right before St. Paddy's Day. I was flying to Ireland with my girlfriend ( now wife) to propose actually and as we were waiting in the airport, I saw Rob Reiner buying a taco and Lips in a smoking booth with his guitar and Iphone lol The two nicest guys you could possibly meet. They were heading out on a small European tour and I got to have a good 10min conversation with Robbo. Love these guys, ultimate underdogs!

I got to meet and talk with Jesse James from Jackyl in a liquor store in Indianapolis. He is major cool like that too.Such a down to earth funny guy who loves everybody.I met Doro Pesch and she is SO cool.No one is cooler than her.Such a major sweetheart.I asked her to marry me.HA!

Anvil is great! Saw them at least 6 times in the 80's. During a gig at the Gasworks in Toronto I chatted with Steve (Lips) after one of the sets. What an energetic and friendly individual. Looking forward to watching The story of Anvil next week and seeing them live once again!

Ya they have mega passion man, plus their Canadian, as us Canucks are full of HEART & PASSION! Must be the cold winters & Canadian Water that makes us tough as nails lol.I think Anvil were dealt a shitty hand but Life could have been way worse for them, they have their Health & Family & that is first & foremost! But being in Canada & in a hard metal band back in the 80's was hard to break into the metal scene with acts like Metallica,Anthrax,Slayer,Megadeth. But this docu has done them justice.

I hope Lips is treating Robb good nowdays.Robb is the most laid back-coolest dude on earth. He is a faithful and true friend to Lips.Anvil wouldnt be Anvil without Robb and i hope Lips knows that.Lips is over the top cool also but he DOES have a temper he needs to work on.(After watching the movie anyway)True friends like Robb are very rare and hard to find.I hope their friendship and brotherhood last forever.Thats more important than any song or band.

@mmxbreaks I agree about the personal taste comment, 100%. Regarding the guys in the band; don't get me wrong, I have the utmost sympathy for them, but it is a dog eat dog business and I sincerely hope they are now doing well - but I still feel their material was not as strong as it should have been. Yes, they may have been left behind, but as Roger Daltrey once said many years ago - the really great bands last longer because they have the talent. Blame Black Sabbath for the demonic trait ; )
