Mind blowing! The design that has gone into that stand-off platform for the intercooler core is wonderful. When I watched it kinda 'click' into place on those rubber standoffs....I think anyone watching knows viscerally what that feels like and it looks so satisfying! Just impeccable.

An equal length 5 to 1 exhaust in such a tight space? I don't want to be that guy trying to fab that. Good luck to him but i'm sure it's already come together and will sound perfect. Can't wait to here this thing rev. Edit: If anyone is wondering, splitting the exhaust post collector, won't effect your sound. The pulses are already collected well before hand. My NA 20b has dual exhaust tips that equally split post muffler. If you'd never seen my back side, you could never tell it had duals.

Can't wait to hear this thing fire up for the first time! 🔥 will be pure bliss listening to the sounds it will produce from the harmonics of the 5 rotor timing and every other sound resonance the environment around will produce! This is a thing of beauty! Do you have the 4 rotor doing anything this year for us in the meantime? We would love to watch and hear you shred the 4 rotor sometime soon! How long do you think until this slc will be completed and driving?.... 2k24?

This car is going to heat soak so bad from the exhaust being that close to the frame and he doesn’t even realize. He needs to move that turbo up away from the frame. I help a guy that has a 1988 Rx-7 IMSA GTU car and the inside of that car gets above 160°F after doing 5 laps at Barbers. MOVE THE TURBO UP. It does have to be much just 1/2 a inch.

12/10 stoked on this. Probably going to need some gold reflective tape and / or additional heat protection between the turbine housing and the bodywork. I’m sure you already have plans and will have it sorted.

Ceramic coating on the exterior of the intake runners to reduce the rate of heat seeping in, and on the interior of the exhaust runners to reduce the rate of heat absorption by the runners. Then a turbo blanket and maybe some exhaust wrap, if they don't heat soak the metal too much.

Question: 106mm is going to spin some serious heat. What are you doing to protect the rear clam from heat exposure considering its close proximity to the turbo itself? Absolutely amazing build so far. VERY excited to see and hear the final product and thank you for all the walkthrough videos.

I can't wait to win this car during your car giveaway! I'm super excited to rip this around Harris Hill Raceway. Five-rotor turbo with little to no piping. This car is going to f'king rev faster literally than a blink of an eye. BTW - No Y pipe needed with the exhaust. Use Titanium and straight pipe that shit right out the back with a slight angle so all the fire gods can be expelled. LOVE this build!

Why am I just now hearing about this ridiculous 5-Rotor monster single turbo contraption? 😅 This thing, will most likely, sound absolutely phenomenally insane..... I've been wondering and waiting for someone to build a 5-Rotor since seeing that 6 a long while ago lol. This needs to be street "legal", well, driven on the street 😂

Jesus your slc might beat my planned one for ridiculousness. K48. Graziano sequential mod paddleshift with the electronics to assist in shifting performance. Or a 7 speed sequential set up from a porsche as i heard there is a new 7 speed transaxle. K48 destrokes for revs. 10k rpm redline. Also debored. Thinking of starting with a 4.2 to 4.4L set up. Its hot vee so cznt go my typical twincharger route without doing per cylinder bank boosting. Which might not fit. Keeping vtec. Aiming for a rather high crossover 5200rpms or around there. And a rsther soft vtec kick so it builds from there. Widest possible powerband. From 2000rpms to at least 9500rpms and holding or just starting to drop off to 10k rpms. Gearing planning is weird. Aiming for a high top speed for texas mile but also reduxed rpms on circuit racing and ability to just stay in gear or shift down as desired. Help fuel economy. Idea is get the thing tuned for reliability but also insane volumetric efficiency with the turbos. And 150hp per cylinder but almost 300hp per L reliably. Alot of parasitic losses reductions and friction reductions. Few other tricks im gonna do to get the thing reliable. Hot honing wpc and considerations to toperances and thermal expansion. Rod ratios. And over square or square. Porting design. But gonna have it running multiple tunes and boost maps. And map the boost and torque per gear and rpms. And have it set up to be track mode with real track tires and a street mode where its the limit of street tires plus ability to drift a bit for track days on cheaper tires. High boost tune similsr concept. Able to drift real track tires if desired. Traction control and abs. Plus suspension mods. Gonna see if i can tweak stuff to get spherical bearings to work on a street ish set up. Schwartz steering rack. But gonna see if i can figure out power steering since my engine adds a good few inches of room. Carbon rims. Also going to go the inerter shock route. Know a few companies thatll do custom suspension for not that much. Penske also makes some for drag racing. But idea is reduce unsprung weight plus rotsting weight and increase suspension performance for as much grip as possible plus able to tune it for destirwd characteristics. Standalone ecu plus everything hooked into it even for the other standalones so everything can play nicely and log. No gps speedo true actual calibrated speedo maybe plus a gps speedo. Bunch of weight reduction and heat efficiency stuff. Inconel exhaust but with ceramic coating. Keeping ac and heating. But also doing some other more race type mods. Also live near a wind tunnel that only charges 2000$ an hour. Aero simulation plus a aero engineer doing that plus helping and some quick testing. Gonna do a body modification to support the top soeeds and also improve ducting and other stuff. Modified front bar to better match the window. Added stiffness plate. Once aero stuff is done for a street set up. Carbon version of the body. Plus fiberglass track specific with extra aero stuff. Probably using universal rear diffusers and making sure its basically flat bottom and gets some aero ground effects. Might end up slightly wide body. But gonna do fancy with the ducting up front. Carbon body is mostly for panel gap. Idea is turn it like top tier show car level basically oem but custom eventually. With a target goal of 1200kg or less and 1200hp track mode to the wheels. And 700 more street mode. 10k rpms reliable but not reallt needed to be driven there very often. But like 70mph first gear ish at 10k rpms for crazy 0 to 60 and occasionally easy way to make use. Tuned launch control via two step and traction control. Abs ro help keep it safe and help on track and street. But also able to swap gearing or final rario quickly via differential and other stuff relatively speaking. And tune it a bit more for drag sometimes or circuit. Or even drift. Tryna prevent or reduce unburnt fuel as much as possible as well with a few other tricks. Fueling system is gonna be trick. Tryna play with the texas mile ford gt with power to weight ratio. Like 1000lbs lighter. Only like 800hp less. But can rev higher. Might also make use of a specific texas mile tune with extended rev range since its not gonna be often. And reduce the top speed to something more normal at 10k rpms. But idea is for track able to get to around 230 ish mph quickly and make use of gearing and other stuff to get good lap times. Might end up needing to gearsets for the transmission but oh well. Itll be worth it. But tryna built it to slay bugattis and the other hypercars and be comfy but also quick enough and built to play with real race cars. Plus make it road legal safe enough to be able to travel with it as a show car xD although unlikely. Wanna rip it on the autobahn.

Hi .. it's really nice work you had archive. Just like to point out on your divider in your plenum I had similar design those divider will end up failing on you my word on it base on vibration and high velocity vacuum. Just like to point that out. This just base on my experience. Best of luck I end up using twin plenum with slim entry divider . If you wish I can send you a final picture of it. Best of luck and can't wait to see the build finish.

I can tell you those dividers won’t work air isn’t coming in uniformly for those square dividers to work think of a firehose transiently pushing water to that plenum, the water is splashing every which way dependant on which port is in vacuum. this means, air meads to circulate and wait it’s turn in there..those dividers will only disrupt that phenomenon.

I suspect the water to air radiator would create a similar effect to the Audi dual plenum design. Those dividers may not be needed. Food for thought.

Been loving watching the build, even when you did the 4 rotor. So the 787b had variable intake runners to make up for bottom end power, has that been designed into the manifold? I noticed it’s tappered. Or does having the 5 rotor make up for that? Also, you gunna let Bryan drive it? Lol

Incredible Dave. I love your vision and dedication to making the car that you have dreamed of. You attention to the art is so important, and I now see why you took your time in posting videos. I feel it is critical that this car be exactly what you see it as in your mind and I am genuinely grateful you are sharing your philosophy with us. I pay close attention to the details you explain and hope to take the same build philosophy on my present project. Which similar to yours, is more a piece of mechanical art meant to be powerful but built primarily for the experience of operating it.

I believe you are asking how closely does this relate to the original rendering/idea? It's pretty close! There's a few differences; the splitter is larger, the rear diffuser is added, and the wing will be more aggressive. Can't wait to show you the wing! Thanks for asking

David one question is f.5 going to be street legal or pure track car only ?Because,I'm sitting here imagining kinda sith respect astonished the comotion that f 5 is DEFINITELY going to stir anywhere and everywhere you drive it,e en at the track that car is going to let's just say,...roll off the trailer and before you can say anything your going to be mobbed and all cameras WILL BE FOCUSED ON YOU AND THE F.5!!!
