The Happier Than Ever album is one year old today. Billie directed the music video to this song and I would suggest taking a look at it. Her vision for her videos is always so thoughtful and artistic. This was a very different style song for her so the album is great but none of the other songs sound like this one. Last week she released 2 songs (Guitar Songs), the song The 30th is very emotional. I love it; her voice is exceptional, the production is superb, the lyrics are incredible. Also July 7th she performed at the Hollywood Bowl in a tribute to Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee. She performed Fever, it showed the range of styles of music she can do. Enjoyed your reaction.

Thanks @CareolJeanGardens !! I imagine we will certainly be checking out more of her work going forward! Personally, I like artists who grow and don't stay stagnant. There's one thing to be said about sticking true yto your sound, but another about growing and developing that sound into something bigger and newer! She's a fore-runner to say the least. Thanks for checking out our video!- Ddubs

What an amazing reaction! You guys didn't keep pausing & talking over the song but just paused when needed and listened throughout. You guys are also so well spoken! I appreciate your thoughts and reaction! Thank you so much for this~

The way I interpreted the song is that the first part is where she's trying to let him down calmly and with tack. And then when he keeps pressing her, the song changes and she goes off on him.

Good reaction, first time listening to your channel. Both Billie and Finneas worked with other producers before without much luck. Most of the push back they felt from industry veterans was unfair. One producer who heard the early versions of their first LP even said to them that he didn't think they had even a single hit track. So they got rid of him but kept their songs. Upon release, all 13 tracks were in the top 100 and won many many Grammys. Billie and Finneas ran into the classic problem of producers with technical skills but no feeling for the new sounds, modern aesthetics. For the track you just reacted, they'd had to have three different producers. Finneas had to level up his skills to fill the production gaps and eventually took over the entire production process for Billie. Now instead of Billie looking for new producers, Finneas is producing for new artists, such as Selena Gomez, Halsey, Tove Lo, Justin Beiber. They already get special producers when needed, such as for the James Bond orchestra or Disney animations. So why break a good team that's working?

Thanks @V P !! And I couldn't agree more! Why break up a good team that's working! Finneas obviously has some original talent and knows how to work well with his sis. He's continuing to nail it! Thanks for checking out our video!! - Ddubs

This was awesome! Made me think about the first time I heard the song and how emotional it made me because I too, can relate to the lyrics. It will forever be my favorite 🖤

You should see the video made with this song, it is fantastic.

We will definitely be checking out the video. I think we both hesitate reacting to videos anymore as it tends to take us out of the pure listen to the song. While videos can be a great accompanying piece to the music, for us its more about the sonic experience. Not saying we'll never do videos again, but the music is more important. With that being said, DEFINITELY going to watch this video. The song was incredible!! Thanks for watching out vid!- Ddubs

first time seeing your channel and I'd love to see you react to this album or her first or second! Billie's first song Ocean Eyes she made when she was 13, and only just turned 21. She and her brother are crazy talented in capturing emotion into sound. Billie has synethesia, which helps too and is why she thinks of most songs with the music video already forming with them. Most people only know Bad Guy (duh) but my personal favorites have been Everything I Wanted and Listen Before I Go which helped me in a dark time. Her videos are always on point and Bury a Friend and You Should See Me in a Crown will give you creepy vibes, which I think NDA does too, though that one is also sad. I'll definitely be back if you guys react to any more of her stuff.

What amazes me about this song is the way it effects people of our generation. (51 yrs old here) I’m never moved by the music of today…Billie Eilish in a once a lifetime talent!

I'm beginning to see where you're coming from. I was impressed with the sound in her earlier stuff, mostly with technique and production. This tune brought that all to a whole new level and we get to see more of her vocal ability and broader creativity. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! - ddubs

Definitely give the rest of her album a listen! She floats between genres as she moves from song to song. (Some songs are crooners, some songs are pop, and to me one song even sounds almost like a nod to industrial rock and NIN?)

The genre jumping sounds quite intriguing. I really enjoy that kind of dynamics in an artist. Huge fan of NIN here as well!! Thanks for checking out the video!! - Ddubs

Awesome, thanks! Billie is a natural-born crooner who was brought up on Peggy Lee, Sinatra, Etta James, Bublé etc with a huge helping of the Beatles. She has an incredible smoky jazz voice like an old Torch singer. Last week, she sang at a Peggy Lee tribute concert. Check out her performance of Fever, she's incredible! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYaThqhneL9kq7M

Billie and Phineas did the cover of Michael Jackson‘s bad it was on BBC. She did an excellent job and I know she was very young at the time maybe 14 or 15 years old. The style I believe it’s bluesy. Billie/Phineas did an excellent job of this other song cover that you should check that out. “ It’s end of the world” . I checked out the person who sang it and wrote the song. Let me just say it did not sound like the same song not even the same lyrics at least to me. Phineas and Billy do an excellent rendition of this song. Thank you

Billie does play the ukulele...but I think it's just Finneas just on the guitar here?
@jphoenixfan2 жыл бұрын
Finneas plays several instruments and I’ve seen Billie play piano, ukulele and guitar. Not sure if she plays any others. I’m not sure is she’ll work with other producers. Finneas has worked with other artists besides Billie and seems to be highly sought out. He already won a Grammy for Producer of the year. I saw an interview once where Finneas was asked how he’d feel if other producers wanted to work with Billie and he half jokingly said to back the f*@% up. But then, more seriously answered by saying he knows nobody will ever work harder than him to give Billie exactly what she wants, production wise.

Thanks @jphoenixfan ! Something to be said about brotherly love eh! Thanks for the info and for checking out our video! I'd say he certainly deserved that award. Sort of makes me want to check out some of the other artists' tracks that he has produced. - Ddubs
