The car plunged thru the floor into the basement and the fire dept had to dig the driver out of the wreck. He was not badly injured. Another case ~20 years ago, at a Dodge dealership named Koller Dodge in Naperville IL an employee accidentally backed a new truck into the customer who just purchased it and pinned him against a wall, killing him. I think her electrical might have went out. My brother said something about that years ago, it was better to have hand crank windows if you wind up in the water. I'm not sure about the Teslas operating system, but she may have had no power once it got wet.

@wunnell9 ай бұрын
@@WhiteWolfBlackStar, I recently saw a video of a Tesla driving through floodwaters. Once the car was completely submerged then it would be unlikely to keep running for long but I would expect an EV to withstand water better than an ICE because it doesn't require air for combustion of fuel to keep running. Car electrics still work even if the engine isn't running though, so even then she would have had a period of time to use the windows without issue. As they said in the video, if you get your seatbelt off and your window down immediately, you can get out without too much trouble. I'm guessing that she just panicked and missed that opportunity.

You know the media, you have to make it seem like someone else's fault, why did the media try to contact Tesla? the car didn't go backwards by itself.
@christophersoucy77209 ай бұрын
You do know that Tesla autopilot has a feature where you can hit the gas driving forward and then (without hitting any buttons) hit the gas again and now be in reverse. The car basically looks at your surroundings and determines whether you want to go forwards or backwards - mostly for parking use or when you just start driving. This could very easily be the car’s fault
