Ray Dalio is the founder of Bridgewater, the world’s largest hedge fund. While he handed over control of the firm in 2022, he remains on the board and is also chief investment officer mentor. Forbes estimates his current wealth at US$15.4 billion. Read More: str.sg/AQGV
Mr Dalio spends 20 per cent to 25 per cent of his time in Singapore, where he is a permanent resident and has a family office. Two of his sons have homes here.
“I’ve always felt at home in Singapore,” he says. “In a world that’s becoming increasingly difficult, its specialness shines more.”

That last part was great. He didn’t want to cast a shadow and want the next generation to find their own way. I respect that

Ray Dalio has always been generous with his tips, not just on investing, but also on life. His work with Bridgewater Associates has set the cornerstone for the next generation of hedge funds. Kudos!

I was so shocked! I didn’t expect that the multi billionaire like Ray would have said, “Money-making was a matter of luck.”

Man, Singaporeans have such rubbish attention span and comprehension skills. If they are eating thunder rice, nasi lemak and oyster from Lau Pa Sat, how does the meal even add up to $50k?

The climate scale now likely has tipped as more people and life forms are dying from continuing fossil fuel use than from would from its discontinuance. Cost benefit has flipped

He merely touched the local food as Sumiko wrote in the article. Well billionaires are VERY careful about what they put into their mouth , preferable dietician-designed meal plans. Nasi lemak and carrot cake is too rich in refined carbohydrates and definitely a no no. So when he request for local food, is just for virtual signalling.

Just to add that SpaceX has launched more than 360 Falcon 9s into low earth orbit with only ONE failure of the 2nd stage not firing as planned, while Boeing could NOT even get ONE successful flight.............by the way, heard of Charles Goodyear who was supposed to takeover Ho Ching as CEO of Temasek in 2009, but was abruptly sacked when the time came. Maybe TH/MOF should release Goodyear from any confidential info contract. I believe SGP & TH would hv been much better if that had happened.
