@@okaycola2 meaningless cruelty. Please go soak your head. They need to learn at school, not be tortured by something that will ALWAYS bother them. I am 42. I am very autistic. I still have meltdowns despite my mother ENDLESSLY TORTURING ME to "toughen me up" for the first 20 years of my life. If you want to claim "well that's not how the world works". I tend to avoid the world and seek accommodations when I can find them. And that is a valid method of coping with sensory issues. If you don't like it recognize that most autistic adults don't make it to the age of 35 because people like you torture us until we kill ourselves. That is a fact that you don't want to cope with because you would rather torture little children because you think that that is useful instead of simply traumatizing. Hopefully everything that you think that autistic children have to go through in order to cope with real life you have to endure when you go straight to the pit. Torture is not a valid method of teaching people coping skills. Teaching them to seek out accommodations and avoid sensory issues when possible is the only method that will keep them alive and sane.
