A logging train runs from Quartz Mountain Summit to Klamath Falls on the Oregon, California & Eastern Railroad. Trains from the Great Northern, Union Pacific, and Southern Pacific are also featured.
The museum store has a two volume DVD/BluRay set that includes 11 Extreme Trains videos: www.cmrm.org/s...

The detail is just astounding..I'm watching at 6:15, and looking at the gravel, the various trees, the dust on the windows of the diesel...A+

The more I watch your videos, the more I learn about the rail system. I was going to ask what the one funny looking engine was with the flashing lights. But instead, I did some research for myself. I found out that the engine OCE #7606 is a Yard Slug and that there are other types of Slugs. The Yard Slug, the Hump Slug, the Road Slug, and there is also the MATE, which appears similar to slugs, but their design is different. Instead of siphoning-off power as a slug does, the axles in a MATE are fully connected into the transition series in the locomotive it is connected to. Thanks for another great video, I am learning a great deal about the rail system.

Great video, the old rebuilt U25B's from the Union Pacific.........with EMD 567 engine, the hoods of the models are not rebuilt....why? The slug from the old demo high hood engine is great......love that video. Thanks Bill Rogers.

so cool. the realism is the best. are the logs real wood? If real wood, pretty amazing those engines pull all that weight.

It is a beautiful video. I generally watch these without sound due to all the talking in the background which detracts from the great scenes and train run bys. It would be 10 times better if recordings of real trains and locomotives were used as sound effects instead of all the background noise from the museum. Just my suggestion. Thanks for sharing. Tim

Nice layout. Enjoyed the runs. One question, why does everyone run with the bell ringing all the time? I know when you are in the roundhouse area you need to, but not all the time running thru the yard.

So let me get this straight. The lumber cars are placed to the lumber yard, next the tanker cars and caboose are put down, and now the locomotives get to rest.

A long unit train on a model is less inspiring, an absence of imagination & skill. Otherwise this groups creative layout and execution is a terrific presentation.
