How to remove a security tag from clothing - Life Hack DIY

This is the easiest and safest way to remove a security tag from any clothing without causing any damage. Using a house hold knife we are able to safely remove the security tag with minimal effort in seconds. After purchasing a hoodie for my daughter i realized the tag was left on the item of clothing and i really didnt want to drive back to the store so i decided to figure out a way to safely remove the security merchandise tag without tools, magnets, fire, lighter and have it simple enough for the every day person who is in the same situation to remove. A cashier left a tag on my shirt and like everyone else I didn't want to go back. He mentioned using a magnet. I used one I keep on the fridge to hang calenders. The pin on the tag literally popped out. Instead of this way a magnet is the way to go:)

Rang the nearest branch and they told me to go there to get it’s removed but it’s about 100 miles away from my home . Their staff told me not to post it because it might set of security alarm at post office etc. My local branch has closed down due to COVID. This is the best way to remove these things. Bought a Christmas present for the wife. Didn't notice the tag was left on until wrapping it and by then it was too late to go back to the shop. Thanks for this. Once you showed me what was inside, I could do the job even faster, literally about 30 seconds, using a pair of cable cutting pliers I had (I know, average person probably doesn't have these right outside in their garage). This type of cutter grabs onto round objects really easy, and it cut right trough in about 2 seconds. Then just grabbed the little metal cup inside with needle nose pliers, the ball bearings fell out in my garage, never to be seen again, and it all came apart! Thanks again, very helpful!!

Thanks so much for this great video . 4 years I’ve had a jacket which TKMAXX couldn’t take the security tag off when I brought it back to them as was accidentally left on. It's even easier and takes about 3 seconds if you use a magnet to attract that 1st little cup that holds the ball bearings against the notch on the pin.
