Bill, For that sharp edge on both sides instead of running a bead along it get a piece of pipe and cut a slot along the length of the pipe with the plasma cutter the length of the bucket edge and slide it over the rough edge an you will have a nice rounded edge to work with.

I was thinking whether you want to try to prevent the ‘Lever mechanism’ on the tractor from going wrong and wearing out using the rock bucket. Maybe an old motor with a lump of steel welded to one side of the shaft so it vibrate might be the answer to vibrate the soil through, and have a one pole switch in the cab area to turn it on when you have a full bucket perhaps?

Q: Why the bar across the top of the tines? Would have been better to cut notches into the tines and lay the bar in them?

Bill that was excellent :-)), worked like a dream :-) Dilly is really getting good, he fails when you get too close bill, he dont want to hit you.

*squeak* I'm not sure why but that little squeak your welding mask makes when you put it up and down cracks me up. *squeak* Good job on the bucket/sifter dooey. *squeak*

he doesnt paint thing because he doesnt want to paint them in the first place... even if he look not sure in front of the camera. he doesnt clean things either ;) but things seem to work for him and he is happy, that's the more important. (not saying I would do things like him but Oh well... to each is own)
@jeremylee9910010 жыл бұрын
bill will you put another plate for strength on the mounting on doie? like you did on the last bucket?

You could build a copper coil out of the rest of this wire. Play a bit with electricity, making ultra high voltage or whatever. But then, you'd need to use it for something, too...

Is your miller running at the 100% duty cycle? also what polarity are you running at? DCEP? Direct current electro positive?

A good gas shield nozzle anti spatter is nothing other than Vicks Vaporub, it will keep the spatter from actually "melting" into the nozzle shield and the contact tip too. Just a tap on the side of nozzle will cause any inside the nozzle to fall out. A far cry cheaper and better anti spatter that the welding supply stores sells. Plus it will also keep your sinus's open too LOL
@ke4yoi10 жыл бұрын
Instead of bouncing the bucket so much, maybe you need to add a vibrator hyd motor to the bucket
@FishFind300010 жыл бұрын
Hey bill if you want you could prob make an insert for the rock bucket for finer rocks/weeks with one of those wire mesh like things I'm not sure what you call it but it's a steel screen you could toss on there
@IceMistEclipse10 жыл бұрын
Also, is the miller a Push/Pull Wire feed or just push?

Now add a grapple lid on it and see if it will scoop up firewood with out dirt, if it does then you really have something, a multi purpose bucket, and then I'll make one.
@fivehigh471810 жыл бұрын
after that you pretty much got all you need to do you're job in the comfort of ur tractor seat ehh... keep on welding buddy ur a good fabricator ... just put more love into you're measurements and making sure things are square really makes life easier .

Have u ever tried dual shielded welding
@TheMetalButcher10 жыл бұрын
I dunno why you put that solid bar in there. That ruins the whole bucket IMO. Instead of the rocks sliding up on the smooth and going into the back catching part, it looks like it will get stuck on the bar.

I've heard from 3 different farmers saying a rock bucket is very hard on the equipment and to expect stuff to break often? Heard this from 3 farmers that have "used" this attachment not just hear say!

You can take rattle can paint and paint your weld nozzle that will help. Doesn't last forever but helps keep the slag off.
