That is very interesting stuff you got there Bill and Sarah, it is very very rare to see textile products come from my home city of Bradford (famous for its textile industry) here in rainy old England, nice to see some people are still keeping our history alive.

@daleseward47728 жыл бұрын
bill the warp on the bucket is a good warp. they actually build buckets with that same type of "lower" mounting point! just throw in your inner gussets and tell everyone it was a carefully calculated feature!!

I found out how sharp my new 110 was, too. lol When I first got it, I cleaned some left over polish residue off. I didn't realize by finger was over where the tip would close. It was so sharp, I didn't even really feel the initial slice when I closed it. It got the tip of my finger pretty good. It bled like a stuck pig. lol I don't know if anyone else mentioned it, and I can't remember if it was mentioned in a video. Since that bucket is so big, if you get a lot of dirt in it, you may find you need some more counter weights in the back since that mini-ex is so small. lol

Bill!!! Get that tiger torch out and heat the heck out of the inside at the weld points. The heat alone will do what you need. I was a fitter and we had to do it all the time.
@anthonyc5728 жыл бұрын
Cut some steel tubes that are the exact width of the inside of the two plates put some bolts through the plates and the tubes and sandwich every thing together nice and tight and or some good tack welds hydraulic jack in the middle and maybe a little heat! Hopefully everything should stay together and still line up nice!

Hi Bill if that was my problem bending that top with distortion, the way I would probably try straightening it, would be turn the bucket upside down. support it on wood blocks either side of the ears somewhere to give them clearance from the ground. then use the boom without a bucket on, and maybe another block under the boom end and push down on it with the 110 from inside the bucket if you can get the boom in there at the right angle to push. You might have to hit it with a big sledge hammer if the weights not enough on its own to get the bend moving. Maybe using some heat and relieve the stress to would help if you went careful . i did the back of a big 4 in 1 JCB Front loader bucket like that but without heat. it was about 6" out when I started. The back wheels of the digger were 3ft in the air to get a lot of weight right on the bend. The plate was a fair bit thicker than your bucket, bouncing the machine never moved it, but it went good when i started hitting it.. Like you say the only risk is what happens to the ear spacing unless you can maybe use some spare pins. Or weld 2 plates across them to try keep them parallel, and pray they don't spring when your done and remove the pins or bracing plates . The only 100% risk free answer is leave it alone I think and learn from the mistake next time.

Bill. Put the bucket on the mini ex and then - carefully - pull the top square with the machine. Tie the ends of the bucket down to something heavy. Maybe heat the pipe first. It should keep the mounting tabs square and straighten things up. At the end of the day a little wow to that area isnt the end of the day.

@daleseward47728 жыл бұрын
for your inner gussets attach them under you brackets but instead of running them straight down to the bottom of the bucket, run them on a 15 to 25 degree angle towards the bucket ends (like an upside down V) that will help provide dirt from plugging up when its damp and will offer better over all bucket support.

Bill, wouldn't it be possible to grind that side plate off with the grinder in an uprigt position and the disk flat on the bottom going in the edges?
@lockmaster501698 жыл бұрын
after you get the bucket welded fully you can set a bottle jack in the center and heat it with your rosebud as you flex it upward then add your inner supports that will work just fine
@zx8401ztv8 жыл бұрын
You could put the bucket back on the machine, make it horizontal and fill it with your scrap metal for weight, heat the bar, you may gain a little more, but dont go too far :-D Oh, cardboard cerial packets are good for tenplates, free too :-)

What if you place a spreader plate in the bottom (so you don't bend it) put a jack on top, then heat the tube each side of the mounting plates, hopefully the mounts will stay parallel, you could add a G clamp to prevent them spreading. Overall effect should be that the tube looks more inline, with just the middle bit with a slight kink btw, Yorkshire IS in the north of England Wonder if that G Thomas is someone i've talked to here in South Wales, though there are a lot of Thomases in these parts.
