Absolutely stunning around Pendle Hill and its local villages, which are part of the outstanding natural beauty of Forrest Of Bowland, and the Ribble Valley. One of the Uk's gems.

Guys please consider putting the full versions of all Billy's works behind a reasonable paywall on his website or something. I'd happily pay for the access. My guess is I'm not the only one especially if the files quality would be good.

Driving from Grandma's to my Uncles house in the late 60s through Pendle my Dad were telling us about the Witches Mum wasn't very comfortable talking about it. No word of a lie just as Dad was telling us the windscreen in Dad's vehicle just shattered scared the hell out off everyone.
@mittbow76433 жыл бұрын
Similar thing happened to my family on Pendle early 70's, Dad was telling us about witches living around and as we said we didn't believe in witches the car broke down and we were stranded for sometime. Still don't know if it really broke down or my Dad played a trick on us!?!

I've travelled between Sheffield and Preston for 50 years so know both Pendle Hill (and Ribble Valley/Trough of Bowland) and the A57 Snake Pass very well indeed and concur with the opinions on both.. The latter is the main road between the two very large conurbations of Manchester and Sheffield (with a population running into millions). A section of Snake has now been down to one lane for over 2 years and vehicles over 7.5 tonnes have to take a large detour (using Woodhead Pass or going via M1/M62.). It is also riddled with potholes. I understand subsidence issues but I still wonder if this was the only road between , say, London and Southampton it would take over 2 years to address. Levelling up? It would be a start if the road was just level (flat) rather than bouncing from hole to hole.

Thanks Billy, this was a fun ride.. I learned about the Pendle witches years ago ( I am in the USA and I have also been to "our Pendle" ..Salem Mass). I wonder why they have not made a movie of Mary Sarratt's book...it is a must read for anyone interested in the Pendle witches.

The bomb development effort that BIlly talks about here was used in an episode of the great TV series "Foyle's War," which was set in wartime Britain. Check out Season 4, Episode 4, "Casualties of War."

Pendle Hill is a special place situated between Sawley and Whalley Abbey's, Clitheroe Castle, Stoneyhurst College, Ribchester Roman settlement , the Forest of Bowland and Dunsop Bridge the exact centre of the British Isles. An area of importance and interest to the ruling elite.

There was one bloke who was hanged with his mother. John and Jane Bulcock. I’m a Bulcock and I’m in the process of finding out if I’m related. I’ve done some research and the Bulcocks lived in a place called Goldshaw booth which is situated very near to Pendle hill.

I've walked up it many times. Once me and my gang of hoodlums went up there on Halloween when we were teenagers in the pitch dark. I live in the town of Nelson and if you look to the west Pendle hill stands tall like a brooding menace. When i was about nine or ten we went up in the snow and it felt like you were in the south pole on top (pure isolation). If you go up their as i have on a severely clear sunny day you can see all the way to the Isle of Mann which is in the Irish Sea. Ypu can also see all the way to North Wales. It's a fantastic walk but for me it's something i've grown up with all my 41 years.
@psychedelicelvis-77718 күн бұрын
Pendle hill is also known as "the mother slug"! The fact that you can "see all the way to the Isle of Mann which is in the Irish Sea" and "North Wales" is solid evidence we're not on a "globe" so if anyone doesn't want their "globe earth" delusion shattering then whatever you do stay away from "zoom lenses" that expose the lie you were told from infancy about our world!

In 1692, two of my maternal relatives, Martha (hanged) and Giles (pressesd) Corey, were murdered during the Salem witch trial. This was also due to evil people trying to grab their land which they repeatedly refused to sell. The family history book lists them as being Martyred.

Not sure I agree with Billy on this. There's more to Pendle than meets the eye, it's a deeply scary place, and you can't understand why when you try to be logical, but there's just something in the air.

Ffs man get a grip. At least Billy ain't an idiot falling for stupid so called paranormal buffoonery and talks about witchcraft in the rational way, ie. Places it into history into the place it belongs, in myth and with the silly beliefs of the times.

@@paulhamj6175 King James of Scotland and England was fanatical about the English turning back to the Catholic faith ( slightly insane) He saw demons and incubus's and so called witches everywhere He set his steward at Lancaster Castle to 'find' witches and hang them These were innocent women bold enough to go against the grain ( as ALL true Lancastrians do ) VILE men murdered them.-in the name of god as well...I went to a boarding stool in Downham village for a season. I assure you there are NO witches in this beautiful place
