5:00 matt sweeney said no other band operates like the pumpkins. it's very much my vision but i won't diminish the rest of the band... 10:00 i was never a scenester. i was not a part of those scenes. al jourgensen got 0 respect. nobody cared about big black. they were listening to the cure and echo & the bunnymen so i moved to florida. 17:00 butch vig threw his life into gish. 19:00 who'd have thought 2 years ago when subpop was riding high that the little melodic guys [nirvana] would win the war? 23:00 we get along better than we did a year ago... 26:00 jimmy's vision is strictly his instrument. james is furthest along in songwriting. i have no idea what d'arcy is thinking... 29:00 once i stopped expecting them to change, it's a lot more together. 32:00 in 1986 the guy in my band said i should sing. so i decided to write my own songs and the band broke up. 38:00 starchildren 50:00 we turned down the pixies tour. i like their record [TLM] a lot better than the last one [bossanova]. 1:13:00 my dad failed me in really basic ways.

Apparently the band played all the way down in Louisville, KY on this same date, so I wonder if this was really in a cafe in chicago if it’s the same day? It’s certainly possible, that’s just a lot of driving in one day

Yeah, I'm confused myself... This interview definitely takes place in Chicago and the interviewer mentions the Nirvana show coming up soon (October 12th, 1991 at the Metro), so it would make sense that this date is correct. But as you noted, the band played in Louisville, KY on this date. My guess is that this was either super early in the morning on the 8th or maybe the night before? The band played in Detroit on October 5th and they had a few days off before the Louisville show.

@@blonkeddleharvey2308 the leg was cancelled. The Pumpkins never played in Louisville, Lexington, Nashville, Memphis and Birmingham (Oct 8 - Oct 13). D'arcy and Iha attended the Nirvana show in Chicago on Oct 12 (when they were supposed to be playing in Memphis) and you also have the story of how Corgan and Courtney Love broke up that same night when she found him with another woman in his Chicago apartment and the woman threw shoes at her and kicked her out. Billy also talked about Courtney phoning him on Oct 13 after she had spent the night at Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl's hotel room in Chicago.
