I'm 43 been listening to SP since maybe 2-3 yrs post-Siamese Dream when a high school buddy bought the cd at a used record store, sticks it in my car stereo on the ride away, skips "Cherub Rock" says something like check this out as it lands on track 2 "Quiet" and I was captivated! been a fan since, I'm appreciative of BC's candid nature and willingness to speak about base reality, his personal experiences and his *unique* *individual* perspective and expression [that's art, after all] and not worry so much if everyone like's him or not along the way, in the end, because he knows his messages of truth reach so many, so deeply. it's an engaging and inspiring human-to-human experience...even if he really is a vampire! 😂 tl;dr: like the big brother I always needed but never had 🤜🤛

@@nebulous8389 I’ve been a fan of the Pumpkins since Gish. I was in a record store in Atlanta as teenager and Rinocerous was playing over the speaker, and I asked the guy working there who this was?. He told me, then I bought Gish, and I’ve been a die hard ever since. Billy is a genius. I will go down whatever road this band wants to take me on. A lot of people gripe about shit concerning the Pumpkins, but I’m just happy they’re still out there making music. It’s beautiful, and they deserve more credit than they’re given.

What an amazing person Billy is, he’s absolutely right about being of service to others to help get you out of a funk-I totally agree I once questioned my therapist when I was really low how can I be of service to my patients when I’m struggling myself and she said exactly the same thing..and I found it fills you with love, purpose, and compassion and in seeing yourself as that person, mirroring makes you an even more empathic person, healing each other as well. Just beautiful ❤

Great conversation! Loving how Billy has grown… I will say, as someone who’s also been close to the edge, multiple times…something dies inside of you. That may be good, may be horrifying. So, and this will confuse most of you, when I see Billy traveling Europe, living his best life, with his family…it feels like he’s going through the motions. It feels…detached, like he’s already gone. A certain death. Again, that’s not necessarily bad or wrong. We’re all just strange passengers. Here.

The new album grew on me. I like the first 6 or so songs. But I don't think this is a return to the Pumpkins old sound like folks are saying. "If I were dead Would my records sell" Haunting lyrics on an album released in 2000, when you hear in this interview he was so depressed to the point he was entertaining the idea of killing himself😥 I loved that he also talked about that he got a different perspective on life by helping others. This is also why so many of our young follow through, because their world is so narrow. They haven't got the experience to see that their little bubble don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. I would never know, but sounds like it's much of the same thing when you are famous and maybe surrounded by yes people that tends to lead you to be high on yourself😞 So glad Billy pulled through. I'm 48 myself with two kids, and still love listening to the Pumpkins while I try to teach my kids that the world is a bitch only if you let it.
