You did an amazing job with this interview. You can see that billy could tell you were a fan and know his music and not just the hits. He was more engaged with you than other interviews he has done on this tour.

Billy may be a little cocky, sure, but the dude is an amazing songwriter like him or not. I love how cool and humble he is here though and he keeps thanking the interviewer for appreciating his music and that is awesome! All bands should love all of their fans and appreciate them and don't forget where they came from.

14:14 soundcheck? So they played it half step higher (on Mellon Collie it's in D standard, live they played everything in Eb on that tour)? Anyway, PICK ME FOR THE VOCALS (my drum loop cover is on my channel)!!!

Great job! I agree with @JC-zt1zu . You are a true die-hard fan and Billy caught on to it so he gave you deeper responses rather than his surface run of the mill answers he's known to give when he gets annoyed with those type of basic interviews. Keep up the great work. Subscribed 👍

It's funny he should say that about Fuel coz he completely ripped them off with Starz which is a total steal off of The Thing That Should Not Be.

Boooy Metallica and Smashing Pumpkins both ripped off Melvins with those songs, listen to Houdini and tell me I'm wrong
@theunborn338 күн бұрын
One hundred percent. A lot of people ripped the Melvins. Nirvana literally copied and pasted the bassline from "It's Shoved" and used it as the main riff on "Milk It".

Never heard that track before, so I went and listened to it. The arrangement and tempo are both different than Fuel. That's like saying Billy Joel ripped off Yesterday. Nah buddy. Nah.

Nobody owns music. There is no such thing as an original idea. Music is a language A melody line analogous to a phrase. Any idea that you come up with has already been there. You did not invent what has already existed eternally.Before you discovered it and decided to claim it for yourself. Yes, you were the one responsible for channeling this and bringing it to us. And people deserve credit in recognition for that absolutely, but you can not claim that you came up with this riff. Guaranteed, even the smashing pumpkins riff is similar more pieces of music than I could hope to name. Like I get people have to legally protect their assets so that their careers can be viable. But if somebody happens to come up with something that sounds like something you did. There's a pretty strong chance that they did that on their own, unless, of course, they're subconsciously, influenced by you by direct exposure to those songs but I think it's more likely that as human beings, we only perceive music and musical phrasing in a finite amount of configurations that we find to be valid parts of a song. So of course people are going to make alot of songs that are very similar sounding to eachother. This is such a useless thing to get stressed out over and the modern industry just feeds this incorrect portrayal of the nature of music.

I'd so much rather another FutureEmbrace than Aghori. I prefer Monuments. Loud guitars does not equal peak Pumpkins.

To say that James was ripping him off is so damn weak. Corgan's pettiness has no bounds. James is one of the class acts in the music world and he sure doesn't need to sound like SP - and I love both bands but come on - pick on someone that deserves it.

It's just ridiculous. By that rule, Red Hot Chili's "Warped" or Sepultura's "Bloody Roots" and so many others would be plagiarism. These types of riffs based on 0-1 or 0-2 are very intuitive to obtain naturally. The problem here, you already know what it is: the ego of an artist who demands attention after having been one of the best composers of his time. Poor Billy.
