Bee Pollen is also excellent in helping with seasonal allergy issues if you get it from a local beekeeper. I have 3 hives in my garden so I'm excited to have another excellent food source for the doggos!

Thanks, Wendy. We live on 5 acres and I've considered renting a section to a local beekeeper in exchange for honey and bee pollen. I add it to my tea to help with my hayfever.

My shih tzu likes raw organic sauerkraut. I just give her a little every other day. Is that as beneficial also in addition to Kiefer or goat milk?

We have chickens basically just to feed the animals, my husband and I get any that happen to be left lol. But in all honesty just buy what you can afford, even cheap eggs are better than no eggs at all. Don’t let the elite make it seem like if you can’t do the absolute best pastured organic free range that you shouldn’t do anything. Don’t let their position cripple yours!

I think a lot of people are trying to do such a good job and this is when raw feeding can become overwhelming at times. You're right, we need to do the best that we can. When I don't have access to farm fresh eggs, I will buy them from Costco or grocery store.

Can you use pasteurised milk? we can't get raw in the UK.

Pasteurized milk doesn't contain the same benefits because of the pasteurization process. You may be able to use whole milk with kefir grains to start a batch of kefir.

You can get raw goats milk and whole milk kefir in the UK. Most supermarkets have it . Just not promoted as well as the processed rubbish.

So how about raw cows milk for a German shepherd ? Instead of goats milk.

That's a good question. I do feed cow kefir, but not raw cow's milk. I was told that cow's milk has more lactose than raw goat's milk, so some dogs may have trouble - but not all dogs. Every dog is unique so I would give it a try before complete discounting it.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the ability to choose their eggs. Especially if their working on a strict budget. I always say to feed the best you can with the resources you have. Personally, I get eggs from friends when they have them and Costco.

Answers Pet Food uses packaging that is environmental friendly and in sizes that don't take up tons of room in the freezer. The milk carton size is easy to store in my freezer. A lot of other brands do bags or big boxes that take up too much room, which is tough when you're trying to feed multiple dogs and prefer to stock up or have limited freezer space.
