This is the second earliest video footage of Billy. The BBC has footage from 1971..somewhere ..unless they erased it already. I heard Billy on an old radio interview say he did some BBC appearances in 1971 but didnt see them ever since he did them.Oh the songs played were Piano man and She;s only a woman to me.

Yep, the BBC were terrible at retaining footage between '67 and '78 due to costs of colour videotape, but they should have been a lot smarter about it. Pipe-smoking old guys in charge!

Aw his little baby voice... we don't get to see a lot of his early vocal progression. So thank you for sharing.

He actually had a couple albums’ worth of material when CSH was released. So many great demos exist circa 1970-71.

The second song he wrote but didn't release? It's so wild because I hear vocal, lyrical, and musical elements in that song that he used on some of his later songs. Cool

Great stuff! I saw Billy Joel at least 8 times. I saw him in the mid 70's the first time at a place called the century theater in buffalo ny. Got to hear him sing "James" when it was cool! Lol it was the best concert I saw up until then. We would wait over night for tickets and always first or second in line. So we saw him from the first row a bunch of times and still have the ticket stubs!

Love this!! Billy Joel is so great!! Unbelievable talent. Interesting note. I did notice some of the lyrics were different from the album. In Billy the kid, the last verse he doesn't say from a town known as Oyster bay Long Island rode a boy with a 6 pack in his hand. And in Captain Jack he says. So you go to St. Louis in your tie-dye jeans, instead of So you go to the village in your tie-dye jeans. 😄

From Joelfan's channel it was taken down. These clips were found or retrieved by Brandon (Boodles). I remember that he mentioned, Rhys Clark, the drummer is still having his own copy in HD, but for some legal purposes with Columbia, he is not able to share it. Maybe it includes TiT. That's what I remember, let's hope some day it gets released.

I think so, you can see that the video is compressed as hell and quality has been loss because of the constant downloading and sharing. I believe it was downloaded from a website or shared by someone, then uploaded on KZbin, then downloaded from KZbin, and then uploaded to Drive, this is the copy that we have.

As such I only uploaded the video without touching your version, completely raw, without audio edits. Mainly to be able to later publish the solo audio and have a different versions of the show And also because that video had been saved for a long time without uploading it, and it gave me a bit of laziness to synchronize the audio
