Take the time to stroll through his album credits, any of his albums. He personally has written every song, every lyric. Every one. How does one person have this much talent? I heard him interviewed and he said there is a song running through his brain all day, every day. If Captain Jack doesn't prove his brilliance, just listen to "She's Always a Woman" and "She's Got a Way". I mean, what the F? I fell in love with his music the first time I heard his album The Stranger, maybe in middle school. Give 'You're My Home" a listen. Best Live Album - "Songs In The Attic". Wowser.

Great song, poignant lyrics. I was honestly never much of a Billy Joel fan, but this particular song has always resonated with me, mostly because I have lived out most of the lyrics, but also because of the passion in his singing. Even if you can’t personally relate to the lyrics, everybody knows someone like the protagonist in the song. I know plenty of others who this song has really struck a chord with. A very youthful Billy Joel, who had already lived enough at this point for two lifetimes. A singer-songwriter-musician-performer-perfectionist throwing all caution to the wind as he shows the local crowd that it’s still rock n roll to him. I believe this was just on the heels of his underrated masterpiece perfect collection of classics and standards, “Turnstiles”. And forgive this tangent but am I the only one disappointed in MLB not taking advantage of the All Star activities, last year, 2017 in Miami, Florida with “Miami 2017”? I wish someone can ask Billy on his reaction to the 2017 All Star Game being held in Miami. 🌟

Yes, Miami 2017, awesome song!!🎶🎵🌆. But, just saying, isn't there a bit of disrespect to Miami in there? The song is more of a rallying cry to support NYC through hard times; Miami is where they go when they give up the fight. Just saying ...
