Billy and his band are something new. I, for one, welcome the sound of a group of musicians who appreciate ALL of the sounds that came before them! It brings us all something new. Billy Strings rocks! Or does he roll? We are fortunate to see this legend becoming known and enjoyed by the rest of the world. Billy? Can you rock Steely Dan?

Exactly the way I feel. Been a Zeppelin fan for 40+ years and I stumbled upon Billy last year on KZbin, can’t get enough of his music.

Hope surviving members of Led Zeppelin saw this and enjoyed. Ballsy to try to sing like Robert Plant, he did pretty well and with a slight bluegrass slant. Of course the picking was masterful. Love it!

Great cover! Very nice Billy makes this his own, and on acoustics using banjo and mandolin vs drums. Very cool!

WTF !!! Is there anything these guys can't do !! SOOOO freakin' awesome !!! :)) They could rename the song "four blades" .... like bluegrass ... blades of grass ... four blades ... ok, that was lame :P
@TheDaneRoth3 жыл бұрын
they seam to miss the central core of this song is about the drummer! Four Sticks is about two drum sticks in each hand like chop sticks and the unique effect it created... So this sounds empty to me

I love Billy but I don't think he got the voice quite right here. Then again, Plant is one of a kind. Fair play to Billy for taking it on.
@Hanzyscure3 жыл бұрын
Plant never got the voice quite right singing live. What's your point ?@
@Wubslin3 жыл бұрын
@@Hanzyscure my point was that while I love Billy, I don't think he got the voice quite right here. Then again, Plant is one of a kind. Fair play to Billy for taking it on, though. Hope that clarifies things.

Fuck that. Kid nailed it. Live.... Get of the high horse. Zep was a studio band. Just ask Jimmy Paige.
@josephm17273 жыл бұрын
@@weeknders zep was not a studio band. Instrumentaly zeppelin played best live. Roberts voice suffered alot during tours due to strain and sickness
@weeknders3 жыл бұрын
@@josephm1727 Bro. Get off the glue. Jimmy Paige is considered the greatest studio guitar player on the planet at the time. They were exactly a studio band. They couldn't re create live what was on the albums. Still the greatest rock band ever. But nobody thinks Zep was a live band.

Cool that they tipped the hat and all but they came across weak and meandering on the translation to me. Would have really liked to hear him and the band's version of Bron Y Aur Stomp or Hangman though.
@Zoetropeification2 жыл бұрын
I love BMFS music and I don't think any group could do a better bluegrass tilt on this song. But this just doesn't work. It's boring. Some songs just don't convert to some genres. The fact I saw Jason Bonham's band do a killer version of this song six nights ago has absolutely no effect on my opinion of Mr Strings cover.
