I've been listening to bluegrass for over 70 years, and it sure is good to see and hear the new generation such as Billy Strings and others, keeping bluegrass alive.
@ambassadorportal3 жыл бұрын
I heard it on the radio growing up in the 60's. I got into rock and roll, but Nitty Gritty Dirt band and others kept the love of string music alive. This is a 'new birth of bluegrass' -- performers like Traveling McCourys, Molly Tuttle, I'm With Her, Chris Thile and the bluegrass jam bands are bringing it into a new day. And no more wierd-looking suits on stage, lol.

Alex Ruark I love it, not really something you see in bluegrass. Trey Hensley does some pretty cool stuff in his songs too, using diminished type stuff every once in a while

Billy also has a death metal background. Didn't own a acoustic guitar for a while. I think you can hear some of the influences in turmoil and tinfoil

I love music that makes you go what the f*** is this. Then it grabs you by the cojones and you're hooked. This is one of those songs. Billy was born in my hometown Lansing Michigan. Just like he used to do, I still go to Elderly Instruments once a week and drool over the Martins.

That's the truth Daniel... I've seen Tony about 50 times and I never thought I would hear anyone else to him but HELLO MR. STRINGS!!!! Phenomenal flat-top picker
@coryCuc3 жыл бұрын
Tony Rice was on a whole other level! But what I loved about him was how effortless his playing was. Not to mention his absolute badassery on stage. His stage presence was just badass...no other way to say it lol. Something about a guy coming out in a suit and tie and just shredding bluegrass tunes. Billy has his own style for sure which makes him equally great and brings so much energy to the stage. So basically what I'm saying is they're both badass lol.

Now this is how true bluegrass should be played acoustic instruments actually being played without pickups sounds better this way then being electric trying to sound acoustic again just my opinion if you can't take out your instruments and play on the side of the road somewhere it's not true bluegrass but there really isn't a lot of true bluegrass out there these days as long as they keep the feeling of grass in there all this electric bluegrass is good but it becomes something different with electric almost country and yes country rocks but Bluegrass Rules thank you Ricky Skaggs
