Many of my family members have seen John play live and all said the same thing.. he was an extreme power house hard to be beat.. to say john is the best is long shot.. but he certainly ranks up there with Buddy Rich and many other awesome drummers

@liennto Well what's the point of rudiments if you're only going to play them on a pad. You play gigs on kits not pads.

@eman00418 No it's not Bill Ward from Black Sabbath. Google and you shall find.

this guys amazing. i was a little dissapointed with his performance at the modern drummer festival if anyone else was there. he played more jazzy, light songs, instead of some of this great stuff.

The best thing about Billy for me is his musicality and groove, and that's the thing I take away from the lighter material.

Billy Ward has Bonham beat on sheer technicality. Beyond that, the two play in different style, and it's hard to compare the two. Bonham might win if the audience was full of metal heads, Ward might win if the audience contained jazz heads. Ya know what I mean?
@beeterolds
@beeterolds 15 жыл бұрын
Ya but you never SEEN him play live so your opinion isnt completely realistically based.. Page PRODUCED all the albums so he wanted Bonham to sound.. yes i am a drummer ive played for 12yrs.. ive also seen his son Jason play several times and he too is a fantastic drummer.. \

6ace6frehley6 dude, i hope you're not serious about what you said on john bonham, you clearly don't have any notion whatsoever concerning drums, drummers and the quality of the music produced by them, i can be my life that if john bonham was alive he woud turn bill ward to ashes if asked for a drumoff , i hope you reconsider what you said and start listening to some more zep to brin awareness in to your ears dude, i love sabbath and always will, but there's absolutely none comparison
