If you change it to "FRAME" before you hit track, it'll stop each time it fails so you can readjust it. It's easier. Let me know if you gave it a try. ;)

I'm in problem with masking, Can anyone answer to do multi masking using a single node?, I wanna mask alphabets such as A, B, I does well job in masking outside of alphabet, but my internal mask doesn't affect external ones, Thus it becomes hard for me to cut masks from inside in davinci resolve. There's not even a video about cutting a mask from inside, and if you did, that would help me a lot.

Billy love your videos and your enthusiasm. Have a pet peeve: there is no such number as point eighteen. And I know it is 18/100’s but you didn’t say point eighteen hundredths, besides that would be redundant. Point one eight is the correct way. Every digit after the point has to be pronounced. 12.345 you wouldn’t say “twelve point three hundred forty five”. Likewise 12.08 would be twelve point zero eight. Keep it up brah. Aloha.

I would like an effect where you have a piece of string lowering some text from top of screen to the centre with the text spinning as it comes down then finally the text stops spinning and the string disappears. Where's the black bar overlay? Do you provide it for free? I know I can do it on my own but I'm lazy. :) And what does the "alpha output" actually do? I've seen other video tutorials that require that for effects, but have never understood why it's necessary.

It basically gives an output for an alpha layer which is basically transparency.

Love your tutorials. I tried to do the 2,5D masking but when I connect the alpha channel, the black bars only show from the moment of the actual effect (I used key frame masking as the movement was very fast and tracking did not work so well). However, of course the black bars should be there from the start. Any idea?

I've sometimes had issues with different sized videos, like they're not transparent outside their content, and I'm using the alpha output. Then I'm adding the alpha input, dragging it to the input of the node. Yes, alpha and video go into the same node input. I don't know if this is actually related to your problem but is quite useful.

You do great presentations. However young man... you have gotten into a nasty habit of jumping and racing through the processes you are demonstrating. This in itself isn't a bad thing. But your approach is more suited to someone who might understand Davinci at least as well as you do. What you may be forgetting is that most people might not know Davinci Resolve half as well as you. Zipping through the steps so fast only confuses the ones trying to learn the tips and tricks you offer. And not to put too fine a point on this... there are those of us from an "Older Generation" using Davinci Resolve also. Many of us who are Senior Citizens, did NOT grow up using these things. It takes longer for us to grasp the basic concepts, tips and tricks that you take for granted. Slow down Son... Bring a more concise and complete presentation. Explain what you're doing, how and why you are following the steps and procedures you demonstrate. Yes, I know it's tedious... but for someone trying to learn, these suggestions would go far to help us grow, learn and understand your presentations and your demonstrations a lot better. I enjoy your videos. You are well organized and it's obvious that you spend a good deal of time in preparing for filming and making your demonstration videos... I wish most people trying to do demos were at least half as well informed as you obviously are. Thank you for another good video demo. In my book, they are only "Good," not "Great." This simply means there is room for improvement. Keep doing what you're doing. There are a bunch of wannabes (like me) and people wanting to learn what it is you do so well. Peace out...!

Option 1, check if the volume on the middle right is enabled, and the speaker is green and not red. Option 2, make sure that the A button on your audio track is enabled before putting your clip in. Option 3, turn on the audio and video link.

I've learned that blasting your clip with contrast and saturation, it really helps with the tracking because a lot of the pixels become clusters of color that are easier to track than a bunch of different colored pixels

I just don't see how this mask works. Trying the reveal as it's the closest thing that you have to what I need. I've looked EVERYWHERE to find a simple mask learning video where one imported jpeg crosses over another jpeg and is actually set correctly behind the window frame that is in the jpeg. No matter whose video I look for, nobody has this that I can find. Why does Davinci make it so hard to have an object that is masked to be correctly hidden behind a brick wall and come out when needed instead of showing up in the front of the wall and being shown in the whole video when it's not supposed to be shown? Should be simple layering but that does not work either. Do you have any videos for this issue?
