BMW P1419 Secondary Air Fault FIXED E46 E39 E53

Just subscribed. I was unable to find the link to part 2 where the valve on the manifold for the P1419 code is addressed. I ordered a new secondary air sensor and it’s filter but want to make sure the code is gone/the check engine light goes off. Can I please get any direction to this part two?

I have p0491 and p0492 I checked the pump it's good and I checked the tube is good also what could of be ?

Secondary air vacuum pump. They get louder as they get worn out. Should be much quieter

Ditto on the cleaning - after fixing the balance of the pump/fan issues, I had one remaining code - which was cleared by spraying the secondary MAF. Code-free two weeks now!

I did everything you did here. The cleaning didn't work so I replaced it. I'm still getting the code even with the new part. Please help :(

Probably have carbon stuck in the head . I was told don’t worry about unless I wanted to waste money

One item to check is the gasket where the sensor connects to the large hose, mine was pinched, straightened it out and cleared faults since then.

why does the x5 have a secondary MAF, it has M54 same as e39

The E39 and E46 have them as well, they are just buried further down, not as easy to access as the E53.

@@bigmwwe it's a pain to replace the oil gasket. It's more pain with AWD. I did few vehicles, and will do an E83 X3 next week. Not looking forward to it.

Is it possible for this to cause 3 misfires

I don't think your misfires are related to the secondary air system this is for emissions gasses at cold start. Take a look at your spark plugs and coil packs first.

If you have this code, try cleaning the secondary air sensor first. If the code returns, replace the sensor: SECONDARY AIR SENSOR; amzn.to/2dWri7a

Great video as always bro! Glad I came across this video...I notice lately my x5 makes this swirl noise on cold start and the noise is coming from this sensor. It only last about 20 - 30 seconds then stop.. when it stops I can hear like a vacuum sound coming from the pump(big black box below) but no code P1419. I got a code P0171. I already clean my MAF at the throttle body but still P0171. Any tips much appreciate!

How long does it take for the light to go away (check engine light )and also I wouldn’t know once I spray if he’s really clean or not

delete the code with your obdii scan tool, see if it comes back within a few drive cycles 30-100 miles

I think you're asking about the service engine soon code that will come on with this failed part. Most of the time the code will clear on it's own after replacing the part, but sometimes it doesn't so it's handy to clear it yourself with a cheap code scanner like the one I use: amzn.to/2y6Xoc7
