It may not be perfect in critical terms (agree with your observations), but that's an impressive sound, imaging and bass I could easily live with at my desk. Binaural is good stuff, thanks brother!

I agree. I have been wanting 8 inch monitors plus a sub no mixing here just audiiophile... but with my room I have the room just not in the exact spots you would want studio monitors this may be the way I go. Sweetwater has a bundle now that comes with this and a dual 6.5inch 1000w active sub. Think I will pull the trigger on this when I have a little more to spend

On the music, it sounds punchy: a strong attack with a quick backoff, as if it's aware of approaching its power supply's capability or is trying to "sound loud." On the tones, yes, deep dip around 400 but it's hard to tell exactly where: the generated tone lags too far behind the number shown. Kickass for a moderately sized desktop set, as far as can be conveyed and interpreted through the tools on hand.

When you have a center image problem like you were in the video its almost always due to the speakers being wired out of phase. It usually happens during setup. The + and = speaker cables on one of the speakers accidently gets reversed. Since the Kali's are for pro use, and most likely powered, you don't have any speaker cables to connect. However, during assembly, a mistake was probably made and one of the mid drivers got connected backwards. You end up getting a diffuse type of imaging. In the past, I'm sure you made this mistake more than once and know exactly what it sounds like. We've all done it. That said, in this particular case, you may be fooled into thinking this isn't the problem. When you accidentally invert speaker cables, all the drivers in the speakers are effected. Its very pronounced and easy to hear. Your description of the issue in the video sounds exactly like what you would hear if just 1 of the mid drivers were wired out of phase. Not the whole speaker. The tweeters may have been giving enough information to give a weak center image, but what really gives it away is the hole in the mid-bass frequencies. The inverted phase is cancelling out some of the sound you hear, but only at certain frequencies because its just one driver. If you've ever wondered why Bose is so good at destroying the sound of their speakers, this is how they do it. They play games with phase.
