Not a very interesting video, but this was my first test with my new setup. Listen with headphones for the full audio effect.
Camera: Moto X4 phone
App: Open Camera -- Video stabilizer on
Video Format: H.264
Focus: Infinity
Bitrate: 20Mbps
Microphone: Roland CS-10EM
Recording device: Zoom H1 (old version)
Gimbal: Aochuan Smart XR
Video editor: Shotcut (I just synced the audio and video, and added fades. No other processing)
Impressions: I LOVE the binaural sound! The Zoom H1 paired with my new binaural in-ear microphones are great! This isn't the best location for 3D audio, but it still made for an immersive sound profile.
I was very disappointed in the video encoding quality. In low-contrast areas of the shot (like on the street and in the shadows), there are very strong artifacts. I think it was a bitrate issue. I shot some additional videos with a higher bitrate, and so far they look good, but it was on a very sunny day. I'll have to do some side-by-side comparisons with the same conditions. More testing will help.
I really love my new gimbal. I'm still learning the details of how to use it, but it really smooths out the walking, and gives some really cinematic shots. Not bad for a sub-$100 gimbal.
More details of my setup, reviews of the different gear and test footage coming soon . . .
(yes, this is me geeking out on video stuff)
