Today is my 63rd wedding anniversary and True Love was our song. My beloved went to heaven to be with the Lord 21 years ago. I miss him so deeply but know he’s waiting for me when it’s my turn. However, that song rests in my heart always as does my beloved.

He was an alcoholic drug addict that beat his wife and children. Continuously for years on end. While threatening to murder them if they spoke out against him. His wife finally had enough, and wrote a tell all book about him being the monster he truly was. He may have been a great singer, sure. However, as a human, he was a lowlife evil monster.

Bing Crosby was already in his mid-fifties when sang this, his voice aged well like fine wine. This is such a beautiful and timeless song. This comment coming from basically an old Boomer Rocker. High Society is a fun musical ( Cole Porter) flick. The duet between Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra is priceless. Such talent the Classic Hollywood Stars had. Unlike now, I know this film came from an Era of innocence( maybe not totally). But,music, dancing and acting had such positive energy, man, As a society going through so much suffering now, we ALL could use uplifting and hopeful entertainment of some kind.

Elton John and Kiki Dee brought me here - I grew up with their version, which has a much more festive feel to it and which narrowly missed out on the Xmas No.1 spot in 1993. However, I think my late wife would have liked this one more - she loved old musicals, movies from the 50s and 60s, and Bing Crosby (It's a Wonderful Life and White Christmas being her favourites). She was taken at the age of just 26 and this is my fifth Christmas without her. Miss you so much sweetheart; save me a nice spot up there for that wonderful day when we finally meet again

This is one of the most beautiful and sweet scenes from any film ever made, Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly had great chemistry, this was truly the "Golden" age of motion pictures, innocent and romantic, I know we live in a more cynical and hardened world, but I believe there will always be a place for romance, if people try to seek out valuable relationships, and not just chase after more money, perfect sex, huge houses, etc
