A'Ruo was sent to the Cold Palace and then unalived herself there, that was in Episode 30. She was the only baddie that got sent to the Cold Palace in the entire show, it was a lil disheartening that neither Gao Xiyue nor Jin Yuyan were sent there, it would have been a bigger slap in the face to them and it would really set in the reminder that the palace is a place where the game "Fuck Around and Find Out" is VERY hard to play without getting your comeuppance.

This drama series has a fantastic female supporting cast! Zhou Xun, Li Chun, Dong Jie, Tong Yao, Xin Zhi Lei and Janine Zhang are perfectly cast in their respective roles! Their acting is indeed very impressive and convincing! Both Zhou Xun and Li Chun deserve special mention for their roles as Ruyi and Wei Yan Wan. I have never come across such handsome eunuchs like Wang Yao Ming and Jin Bao before in other serials. This is indeed a great production with very elaborate costume, a great cast and a good storyline!

This drama had me ugly crying. I felt for Ruyi. I really hate the emperor, first empress, and Consort Ling. This scene is so heartbreaking. All of the names on the flags of the lives she took or destroyed was such a heavy scene. I cried basically the rest if the episode because poor Ruyi 😭 "But those who have left can never come back"......how I wish she had met a man who would cherish the gem she was and never had to live being compromised for so long. Her heart was gold and should have been treated as such.
